We were very impressed with the care given to our Penny Mae during her emergency last night. Excellent communication from the staff to us, professionalism was right on, and the expediting of her treatment was spot on. Our Penny is much better today and we thank the staff of Westside Emergency Animal Hospital for the excellent care provided.

Do NOT come here if your pet is in a life or death situation. Our dog hurt his foot and we couldn’t stop his bleeding so we came to Westside Animal Emergency Clinic. It took an hour before we saw any techs, and almost 2 hours before our dog actually received any kind of treatment. All of the workers stayed in the back room. During the time we were waiting, 3 people came in with their animals and left to go somewhere else because no one was up front or helping. A better name for this place is an After Hours Clinic because they definitely are not a place to go in an emergency.

I tried to bring my sick cat here who could not drink any water or food and had a fever for over 24 hours so was dehydrated and lethargic. It was open but the door was locked. I rang the doorbell several times. There were people inside and I could hear the receptionist. I know at least one person saw me at the door through the window in the door. Nobody ever came to open the door. I waited and waited. So I took my cat to Arista Advanced pet care. I absolutely refuse to give business to places with horrible customer service and Arista was definitely worth the drive. They will welcome you with open arms and don’t keep their door locked. At least I learned where not to go.

We called for emergency for our dog on Sunday 10/26/25 and were told to bring him in. We drove an hour to get there and no one was there and we called back and they said they were full and not taking any more clients that morning. Tried to send us to Marietta. We called and no one was there. Very disappointed and would not recommend .

Wanted to keep our dog overnight and charge 3,000 +. Our dog had been hit by a car, which is a serious injury. However, we saw it happen and he wasn’t completely run over. We knew he had possible internal injuries and open wounds that needed repair. However, he was alert and responding to us when we arrived. We did ask for pain meds because he was in a lot of pain. Did not receive. We were worried he could have a broken leg or ribs. We decided to leave and take him home in order to get him to our home veterinary hospital first thing the next morning. We live an hour and a half away. When we were leaving the dr came out and wanted to euthanize for $0 she stated. I could not let that happen because of how alert he was and his pupils were responding to light. We then decided to drive to Rome and see another vet, so our buddy wouldn’t be in so much pain. They immediately took a $810 deposit and began working on him as soon as we got there. First, prioritizing his pain. We found out that he had no broken bones 🙌. Just a pulmonary contusion to the right lung and the road rash and open wounds. They cleaned the wounds and gave him a pain patch to hold over his pain until we got home to his regular vet. We brought him home Thursday and he is thriving! So glad we did not euthanize that day and went with our gut. I will never be back!
