We are accepting new patients now.
Yesterday around 2:40 PM, after calling Benfield, Sugarloaf in Duluth, GA, to schedule an appointment, I brought my dog in because she had been stung by a bee and was in visible pain.
Lizi at the front desk was compassionate and even offered to help me bring my dog from the car, similar to Tiger Tails, where the even the vets themselves sometimes assist customers and their pets is needed.
It seems that a lady by the name of Valerie was called to assist me, but from the moment she arrived to the front desk, she showed a bad attitude, rolling her eyes and speaking dismissively. She immediately demanded vaccination paperwork even though I told her that my dog was wearing her rabies tag from Tiger Tails. Yet, she refused ( as she were a manager and a bad one) to let anyone help my dog unless I produced “papers” or allowed her to vaccinate my dog on the spot. When I asked her to show some compassion for what had just happened, she replied that they were not an emergency hospital. My dog was swollen, crying, and clearly distressed, waiting in the car for at least 30 minutes until I finally was allowed to bring her in.
Once Lizi checked me in, Kimberly, another young lady who was respectful and helpful, and the doctor treated my dog right away without any mention of needing additional vaccinations before care.
Valerie’s uncompassionate attitude reflects poorly on the front desk overall and made an already stressful and dangerous situation for my pet worse. I appreciate the staff who ultimately helped my dog, but the behavior at reception needs serious improvement.

Never bring an animal to this place unless you want them to not feel better and get worse or die.. 😭😢. Our baby passed away today he had cancer and Banfield said allergies for 3 months straight they took x-ray they did all kind of blood work and my poor baby had cancer we took him to the other vet and right away in 1 hour to bet they cancer my niece spent so much money on food medication coming up there every week paying $180 for a shot it's not even working and who knows if he was getting the shot because they told her that you can go in the back only them which is weird.. 😢😭

I’ve had a great experience with Banfield! The staff is always welcoming and takes such good care of my beagle. From check-ups to vaccinations, they’ve been consistent, professional, and gentle with my pup. I also love the wellness plan options — they make pet care more affordable and manageable long-term.
The team truly goes above and beyond, and I always leave feeling reassured and confident that my dog is in great hands. Thank you, Banfield, for keeping my furry friend happy and healthy!

Had a great experience with the main pet doc at Sugarloaf Banfield and felt like she was attentive to both my pet and me. She listened, greeted both of us and actually read the chart and gave insight. Very nice!

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
