The "doctors" here are wildly unskilled and unqualified. I've had 2 recent visits that assured I will NEVER bring my dogs to another Banfield for as long as I live! First, I brought my two elderly maltipoos in in May, and raised concern over my dog's distended belly. She has known, serious heart problems. The vet did no imaging and just brushed it off, saying it was normal and just due to losing muscle with age, making fat more prominent. A few weeks later, I was at the ER having a large amount of ascites fluid drained from her belly. Then, last week, my dog was seriously injured by a horrifically dishonest and unqualified groomer. She had a serious laceration to her neck. I initially took her to the ER where they determined she needed stitches, but needed to be debrided first, and the ER doctor wasn't comfortable doing it under a local anesthetic due to the sensitive location of the wound. She recommended it be debrided by a surgeon under general anesthesia, which could very well have killed her with her heart condition. So instead, they left it open and placed a tie-over bandage (very common in veterinary medicine) with instructions to have the bandage replaced daily by my primary vet. Took her in the next day for wound cleaning and bandage replacement, and the doctor waited until she had already removed her bandage to tell me that she'd never seen a tie-over bandage in her life and wasn't comfortable replacing it! She said her recommendation was to just "let it breathe." I'll attach photos of the wound and let you be the judge of how you would feel if a vet told you to just leave a wound like that open to the elements. I called around for anyone in the area who could properly replace her bandage, which led me (same day) to Sugar Hill Animal Hospital and Dr. Jonathan Bentley, who has been incredible! He replaced her bandage better than the ER did, and 2 days later, he successfully debrided and sutured her wound without general anesthesia. A good vet is worth their weight in gold, and there is no gold to be found at Banfield.

Terrible service !!!!! I took my dog because he hit his nail and they charged me $72 for an office visit, $52 for a paw bandage, $42 for a clean/flush, and $110 for just cutting the nail, plus pain medication and antibiotics were $200, a total of $400 just for one nail. Stay away from this place. They're only interested in adding and adding to the bill.

I bring my dogs here because I have them on a plan, but honestly, my appointment is at 11 and they see me at 12:30. Last time I came her appointment was at 2 and I receive my dog at 5pm.(she is a puppy and should not have been sent to the back with sick dogs for hours) they don’t respect people’s time. They don’t even like giving rooms anymore. Last year I had an incident where my dog had cancer for months and I was not told by the vets in cumming, lawrenceville, or johnscreek. When I asked them over the phone if she had cancer I was told no, until the day she past away and we dealt with her pain for 3 months and no one would tell me anything. When I reached out to them, I was not called back and ignored. I was angry and upset: I use to like Banfield but they do have people that don’t care about the people, communication and pets. The service has really declined. If I could rate there service it would be a negative 10.
