  I went for a wellness visit regarding my cat's change in appetite, tapeworms, and vomiting. The overall staff and veterinarian were friendly; however, I strongly believe that I was not given adequate information to make an informed decision for my cat's care. I was told to get an X ray to view for any bowel/GI obstruction because of a slightly elevated temperature indicating possible inflammation and the tapeworms. My vet thought that the tapeworm picture I provided was not tapeworm but it was actually yarn. I had to explain to her that it was defintely not yarn and I was just surprised that she thought it was yarn in the first place considering that it literally looked like a tapeworm with all the individual "segments". Once convinced, she still wanted to do an X ray because she said she felt around my cat's stomach and noticed discomfort from my cat. To me, I told her "what if my cat was not happy with the stomach touches because that area in general is just senstitive and any cat would react from stomach touches from a stranger". She still believed her stomach palpations were a sign of a physical obstruction. She was adament on an x ray and said an obstruction was a possible reason for her change of appetite and vommitting. Because she kept telling me an X ray was the best course of action since she is the professional, I went through with it and spent over $400 for the visit. The x ray revealed no obstruction. The very next day, she texts me saying that the anti tick and flea medication I had given 2 days prior to the visit causes the symptoms I came for. If she had mentioned this at ALL, I would have waited before going through with the x ray. Instead, this information was kept from me and I had to spend $400. I even told her the first time an x ray was even brought up that I did NOT want to do it because of the price and that I felt that it was NOT needed, but she still pushed for it. Terrible advice and judgement from the vet's part.

  This place & staff = AMAZING! Oliver was a star and answered all 828,682 questions my child had about turtles and ant colonies. Sarah was also very pleasant at check out. Appreciate these guys so very much!

  Ste staff here are very helpful and knowledgeable. The store is well kept and fully stocked. Definitely a good place to bring your pooch for a grooming.

  My experience was very pleasant! The cashier was friendly and nice…So friendly that I found out we both share the same month for our birthday which is in August. Her service was fast and friendly. Sadly I forgot her name.

  Pet owners, please be cautious when bringing your pets to the Edgewood Petco Grooming Salon. Since Renique’s departure, the quality of care has drastically declined. Renique was the salon manager, and under her leadership, everything ran smoothly. It’s clear she left due to an unfavorable work environment, and the atmosphere has gone downhill since. My dog, Prince — a vibrant senior who has always been calm and well-behaved — was unfairly labeled “overly sensitive,” denied services, blacklisted, and blocked from booking grooming appointments online. This never happened under Renique’s gentle, professional care. These actions raise serious concerns about how animals are treated at this location. We’ll be following Renique to her new workplace, no matter how far, because she treats Prince with the kindness, patience, and respect every pet deserves. 🐾
