  I was so frustrated with my experience with this particular store. My senior dog was put on a medication for his liver. I called ahead of my visit to make sure they had it in stock. When I got there I went to the shelf and pulled the card for the medicine and took it up front. The gentleman behind the counter said he wasn't sure where it was and would have to call a manager. I said okay. At that time a female walked up and he asked her. She looked where he had looked and couldn't find it. And then told me they don't carry that particular medication. As she is telling me that, the guy said, "she will probably call the manager to find out. But she didn't. She doubled down and said they don't carry that medication. I asked if that was so, why do you have the cards for it on your shelves. She looked confused and wanted me to show her. So I took her over to where the cards for the medication were. She said she didn't know but that they didn't carry it. I said, then why do you have the cards for it on your shelves and that I had called to confirm before coming. I then asked for her to call the manager. She then said there was no manager, she was the manager. The guy looked uncomfortable because he had just told me that there was. So I pointed that out. In front of both of them. She then said she was shift manager and he was talking about the merchandise manager. And she wasn't there. I looked at the guy, because he was the only one being truthful. And then decided it wasn't worth the hassle. So I went to Petsmart across the street. They were very helpful and had the medication. So don't waste your time with Petco. Just go across the street to Petsmart. They aren't dishonest and misleading.

  Don't bother coming here to buy fish if Brita (a manager apparently) is working. She is extremely rude and condescending. We were in to grab some fish and she refused to let us get certain ones because "they can be aggressive with the other fish you're buying." I'm not talking tetras and cichlids. Literally different community fish. She then proceeded to treat me like a child and "educate" me on how to set up a tank despite me mentioning having had tanks of all sizes for 15+ years. Brita needs to learn how to give the customer what they ask for and only give her "advice" when it's asked for. The cashier to her credit was extremely friendly and very apologetic for her managers behavior.

  I genuinely don’t like writing a negative review right now but I’ve come here for years and in the last year the workers I encounter have been awful. The attitude is consistently negative rude and generally unhappy. I’ve adopted a kitten from here I’ve bought basically everything here for my two cats I got a fish here and all the things for it as well and I think today I’m officially done coming here. It is never a pleasant interaction with any worker. I understand I was asking for a discount on a cat bed that had a long thread unwinding from it so I even attempted to find the same bed without a string unraveling from it so I wouldn’t have to mention it. As I have bought beds here before and to no fault of the company they can start to fall apart and my fear was it would happen a lot sooner with this string unwinding before it’s been used by cats. So I just simply mentioned it and the gentleman at the register called for his manager to see if a small discount was possible which I appreciated at first. This smaller older woman appeared seemingly already agitated and I went to explain my small concern with the bed and she retorted with “um no absolutely not it’s just a string” and then yanks it out and goes “see” with a nasty attitude. I was going to avoid ripping it out when taking it home so it wouldn’t make anything worse. I proceed to say I wish you wouldn’t have yanked it out it could make the seams in that spot worse now. “And she says “its fine” and walks away. There was no kind greeting or even a chance to hear me out just attitude dismissiveness and overall an unpleasant interaction. And sadly not my first. a simple question of where something is, as I’m someone who will profusely look everywhere before asking sends some of these workers into such a bad mood and attitude. It’s sad but I guess I’ll just go across the street from now on.

  BEWARE OF RINGWORM I adopted kittens at Petco in Acworth, GA via Amazing Mutts & Wiggle Butts — both loving organizational trying to help our pet community. I was assured the darling kittens were no longer contagious with ringworm, yet my other pets and I contracted the infection. My vet says cats in particular are often silent carriers with undetected spores in their dander. BEFORE ADOPTING ANYWHERE, PLEASE ASK if the adoption location has been cleaned specifically for ringworm spores. If not, even if your new pet wasn’t the original carrier, they may have brought home ringworm hitchhiker spores picked up from another animal in the facility. WHAT HAPPENS? We have painful lesions in the ear, on the face, and elsewhere. Ringworm is incredibly difficult to eradicate in the body and environment. Spores can live on surfaces for up to 24 months if not removed. So far, the situation has cost over $750, countless hours of cleaning and treatments (with months to go), and the requirement of harsh chemicals in my home.
