  I’ve always loved petco and have always shopped there for my pet needs! But sadly , I was there this week and purchased a new toy for my new puppy! The purchase price was $21 and change, I jaded the cashier a$50 bill, I had nothing smaller! She unapologetically said I can’t change that, I have no change in the drawer! Not for nothing oetco is a big chain business and you don’t have change? What I am assuming is that the cashier didn’t know how to make change for a $50 bill! It’s legal tender! Last resort I had to use a credit card that I didn’t want to use! I will never go back to your store!

  Last time i came here they tried to sell me driftwood with worms on it from the fish area so i was already hesitant to shop here. This time my boyfriend and i went to the store at 8:42pm, the doors wouldn’t open but they weren’t locked so we just walked in after seeing multiple employees behind registers and double checking they close at 9:00pm. When we walked in, an older woman who i assume was the manager yelled “Are you gonna close my door?” from across the store. We apologized and were still met with no reply and another hostile employee checking us out who then walked us to the door and shut it behind us, ignoring my boyfriend thanking her multiple times. We left the store at 8:50pm, still 10 minutes before they close, didn’t touch anything but the one item we bought, and left within 8 minutes. If you’re gonna close early put a sign on the door or just let us know instead of acting like we’re doing something wrong by spending 8 minutes in your store 20 mins before you close. Possibly the worst customer service i’ve ever experienced specifically from whoever was the night shift lead.

  I love this store but come on, they're a little pricey, almost ridiculously pricey, but I get decent stuff here

  Petco has permanently lost a customer. We have had a very bad experience in the fish area twice while trying to buy fish for our aquarium. Both of the people we worked with were extremely condescending and judgmental/mistrusting of what we were telling them about our aquarium setup and acting like they wouldn’t sell us fish. You’re going to question me on buying a few goldfish for an empty and cycled 20 gallon tank when you have what looks like 100+ fish stuffed in one the same size? Get out of here trying to tell me it’s inventory and you’re treating those fish fairly. I’ll take my money elsewhere for my fish and dog needs. Get over yourselves and treat your customers with a shred of respect. I understand what you’re attempting to do and I appreciate your concern for animal safety but this is too much.
