I highly recommend Wilton Manors Animal Hospital. Thank you team for taking such great care of our dog Cliff over the past months with his multiple health concerns, especially his MVD/Congestive Heart Failure towards the end. In September 2024, our dog had blood in his urine and a bladder mass identified via xray at our usual vet clinic. They referred us for an ultrasound, as it may have been cancer. Very scared and frustrated, we searched all over town but everyone told us they wouldn't do an appointment until a month or two from then unless our dog's condition became an emergency. That's how we ended up finding the Wilton Manors team. They got us in the same week and gave results promptly. Because an enlarged heart was also found at xray, they suggested a cardio workup and identified his MVD and heart murmur. Got us on meds before he was ever symptomatic which I'm sure helped us extend our buddy's life... Everyone from front desk, techs, and all Drs I have worked with since then have been so kind, patient, and professional. They always were warm and welcoming to our family. Answered all questions. Provided great guidance. We lost Cliff to his progressive CHF last week but I am eternally grateful to Dr. Barboza, Dr. Casali, Jessica, Rashad, and everyone we've interacted with on this amazing team for being a ray of light for our family during the dark moments of his terminal diagnosis 🌈❤️

Over the years, Dr Barboza, Dr Casali and the entire staff at WM Animal Hospital have taken outstanding care of our cats and dog. It seems rare these days to find legitimately caring veterinarians who actually know your name and your pet's name. But these folks are so welcoming and provide such loving care, it's like they are family. Before they provide any significant service, they will quote you what it will cost and they will give you options. For us, I would spend every last penny on my animals to ensure their health and I never feel like they are taking advantage of me. Every dollar that I've spent at Wilton Manors Animal Hospital has been absolutely worth it and my pets are healthier and happier because of them.

DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS AS TO COMPETENCY. I have read them all and, as a close friend and lawyer who has been involved with the negative reviews, I can disprove each and every one of them. My many dogs have been patients for almost 10 years and Dr. Barboza and his team have provided the highest level of care to all of them, saving several of their lives. For the ones with issues like collapsing tracheas, progressive kidney disease and progressive heart disease, the owners MUST take the appropriate steps to maximize treatment and minimize the disease and not blame the doctor when they ignore the advice and disease for years. Dr. Barboza recently diagnosed what he believed might be a heart murmur in an 18 month old Presa Canario (large breed where this normally does not occur) and immediately recommended a visit to the cardiologist. She was brought to Dr. Barboza for another issue which he also correctly diagnosed and treated and also recommended a visit to another specialist (an internist) to see if there were underlying issues better diagnosed by a specialist. I took her to both. If he hadn't heard the murmur (which is not always there as it was very early in the disease progression), hadn't recommended the cardiologist visit, and I hadn't taken her to the cardiologist, we would never have found that both heart valves are defective and in the beginning stages of eventual cardiac disease. She is in the wait and see phase for the heart disease and has regular follow ups with the cardiologist every six months to determine when to start treatment. As far as her other issues, the internist concurred with Dr. Barboza's findings and recommended the exact same treatment he did (as she has in the past with all my other dogs she has seen after Dr. Barboza initially evaluated them). This past Saturday I took the same dog in AFTER taking her to an emergency clinic as Dr. Barboza is the only one who can properly sedate her for xrays. Tests were run and since they close at 2 pm on Saturdays, they recommended that I take her to VEG emergency clinic (not the one I had taken her to) if I wanted to do the xrays. This is only the latest positive experience with Dr. Barboza and his team and I wholeheartedly trust him. Yes, it costs money. Yes it takes time and effort. But if you love your animals as your children and are willing to invest the money, time and effort, you won't find better care than at Wilton Manors Animal Hospital and Premier Pet Care. And please remember, they are not an emergency hospital and while offering the best care possible, if your animal is in extreme distress, take it to an emergency clinic, especially if it is close to closing time for the vet clinic, which several of the negative reviewers failed to adhere to.

My 13 year-old Yorkie was completely fine earlier that day. Around 4 PM she suddenly developed severe coughing, phlegm, vomiting and struggling to breathe and swallow. We took her to the vet immediately. Her bloodwork indicated renal compromise. Despite this, the vet suggested it might be bronchitis due to cold weather, advised us to keep her, calm, warm and give cough pills. Nothing else were performed, no oxygen support was offered, no hospitalization was recommended, and no emergency referral or contingency plan was discussed. In a geriatric patient with acute dyspnea and abnormal labs standard emergency protocol should include immediate stabilization, oxygen therapy, full cardiopulmonary assessment (not only auscultation with stethoscope), IV fluids and a clear discussion of prognosis. None of these steps were taken. We were sent home with cough pills, also the prescription was written incorrectly and pharmacy could not dispense it (In a critically ill geriatric patient, this created further delay and serious concern). She collapsed later one from cardio/respiratory decompensation. Based on this experience, I do not believe appropriate emergency protocol or clinical management/judgment was exercised for my dog. If your pet is elderly or showing severe symptoms, I strongly recommend seeking a office equipped for full emergency evaluation, treatment, and stabilization and no just a simple veterinarian in a hurry. If your pet is sick badly please obtaining a second opinion. I will never go back to that place. Barboza is the worst vet. UPDATE: I am adding this clarification for Dr. Barboza because your response to my review and voicemail misrepresent what occurred. As i said at the beginning, you acknowledge that my dog deterioration happened in your office in front of you. You acknowledged that in that moment she was unstable enough that you didn't want to take X-rays because you said she could die on the table. That statement alone confirms that you recognized how unstable she was but you preferred to diminish or ignore the symptoms severity. You observed her vomiting, her respiratory compromise, and her abnormal lab findings. Despite this, no immediate emergency transfer was executed, no stabilization protocol was initiated, and she was discharged with oral coughing pills (for a dog who was visibly struggling to breathe and swallow) and anti-inflammatory prescription that could not even be filled because you wrote it incorrectly. You are now claiming you had recommended immediate emergency care and "fluoroscopy? First of all you NEVER mentioned fluoroscopy in the whole visit and oxygen/emergency care was never presented as an immediate directive, It was mentioned only conditionally, "in case she worsened", but she was already worsening in your clinic!!! There was no clinical justification for a “wait and see” approach. You can justify your decisions as much as you want, but that does not change what happened. No one is blaming anyone for the suddenly illness episode (as you stated in your voicemail). However, you are the "professional", you are supposed to be trained for this. Your responsibility is to know what to do when a patient is in that condition, to recognize symptoms and when a case exceeds yours and your facility’s capabilities, and to follow established emergency protocol. If you knew you did not have the means or conditions to properly stabilize her, the correct action was immediate transfer, not conditional advice. EMERGENCY PROTOCOL WAS NEVER FOLLOWED. Nothing you say will change the loss of my dog and this is not about my dog suddenly illness, It is about whether the response matched the severity of her condition... In this case, it did not. I stand by my account of what occurred. And I WILL NOT REMOVE MY REVIEW AS YOU REQUESTED.

Wilton Manors Animal Hospital has completed the third risky surgery on my little 15 year-old dachshund Oscar. He had a cancerous mass in his mouth and had to have two molars removed, and the mass removed. Because of his age in a heart murmur, I was reluctant to do the surgery, but I knew if I didn’t he would have to be put down in a relatively short period of time. He had the surgery two days ago and today you would not believe how energetic and healthy he looks and feels. He had no energy earlier in the week and has not been able to get into bed or run and over a month tonight. He has a new dog and he’s still healing. Thank you, thank you thank you for the excellent care you have given my little dog Oscar.
