- LOLiz Mariell OconOct 26, 20251.0On October 26, at 6:10 pm, we took our dog, Smokey, to Vetco Clinic for his vaccination. We have a large, 76 pound Bernedoodle who is very playful and energetic. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff (Nataly C. and Skyler L. ) seemed inexperienced and uncomfortable around big dogs. Nataly offered him a treat but wouldn’t even get close to him which honestly makes me wonder why someone would work in a veterinary clinic if they’re afraid of large animals. Our dog has never bitten anyone, but with all the tension in the room, he growled because he could sense their nervousness. At that point, they decided they weren’t going to be able to vaccinate him. My husband and I ended up wasting our time and stressing out our dog for no reason. We won’t be coming back to Vetco, and I plan to cancel our Vital Care plan. I’ll be taking him back to Banfield Pet Hospital, where he’s been seen since he was a puppy and has always been handled professionally and with care. The only reason I tried Vetco was because it’s closer to home, but I’d rather drive the extra distance than deal with inexperienced veterinary staff again.
