Not happy with end of life treatment for a 6 month old boxer. Our tech was awsome. I felt the doc was cold and uncaring like it was just another day at the office. Also the font counter chick was annoying. We have other animals and would never consider bring to this location. Almost 500 bucks to put to sleep sick 6 month old dog for two syringes of drugs. This place is only open to collect money.

Overall it was a good experience. They handled our pet with compassion and care. The drop off service was quick and convenient for on the go families. The lobby and room was clean and well kept. We dropped our dog off at 9:45am and he was done by 11:30, granted that may vary based on the day you go and how busy they are. The staff was friendly and attentive, answering our questions efficiently and with compassion to our situation. That being said, services are comparatively it is on the higher side as far as pricing is concerned. While we were only addressing minor concerns, I can say that the experience was great and we will be returning as needed.

On September 3, 2025, my dog was seen for an allergy and prescribed an antibiotic and a steroid (Prednisone), along with an allergy injection. On his last day of the steroid treatment, he developed severe gastrointestinal issues. On September 12, 2025, I called the clinic with the concern of vomiting and diarrhea, the attending vet gave me some food, a probiotic, and anti diarrheal medication. He had just started vomiting, andI was told to monitor him and bring him in if his condition didn’t improve or worsened. My dog seemed to improve briefly on Saturday, but by that evening he began vomiting again, and his condition deteriorated. I wasn’t aware the Banfield was opened on Sunday, so I did what I could at home until Monday when I could take him to the office. I started researching and found it is common to have gastrointestinal issues while taking a steroid, but quickly dismissed this because my vet never mentioned and I trust the veterinarian to take care of my pet. I also didn’t believe this could be possible because he was on the last days of the steroid treatment. By September 15, 2025, I brought him back to the clinic as his condition had become critical—he was running a fever, developed a rash, and continued vomiting. At that visit, the veterinarian explained that my dog’s stomach was likely severely irritated or ulcerated—most likely caused by the steroid prescription. Again, I questioned this asking why it would show after 8 or 9 days. She then explained that the steroid was most likely the issue because it took 8 or 9 days for the steroid to deteriorate the stomach lining. I just wanted my dog to get better, so I did what they recommended which was an IV, an antibiotic injection, and nausea medication, paid whatever it cost and took him home. After researching further,I learned that it is well-documented and common knowledge in veterinary medicine that steroids frequently cause stomach irritation and ulcers, and that the standard of care is to prescribe a gastroprotectant (such as Sucralfate or Omeprazole) alongside steroids, or at the very least, warn the pet owner about the risks and symptoms to monitor. I was neither offered this protection for my dog, nor informed of the risk. As a result, my dog became seriously ill, and I incurred additional veterinary expenses that I should have not had to pay! These expenses could have been prevented had Banfield followed an appropriate standard of care. More importantly, my dog’s health and life were put at risk unnecessarily. Also, after reviewing his paperwork, I see how carelessly the paperwork is filled out. My dogs birthday is wrong, and they have his nails and teeth marked as needing attention but neither of these have been addressed in any of the visits we have had. There is nothing notating prognosis or treatment.
