Petco did a great job once again when they groomed my standard poodle. Staff provided quality and loving care. Thank you.

I have been bringing my dog Cookie to the Venice location for a few years. This experience was less than pleasent. Apparently the policy is they can’t carry your dog to the back, which the prior groomer did. My dog is little and was def scared as it was busy being a holiday weekend so lots dogs were there. The groomer Eden pulled my dog to the back, dragging her as her feet slid and she didn’t want to go. I almost grabbed her and left then. My original appt was 1230 but earlier in the week she had asked me to come at 1130 which I did. When I dropped her off Eden said should be done by 130 but at 130 when I was almost there to pick her up I get a text saying going to be another hour they had a lot of walk in for nail trims. When I got there, I asked to speak to a manager, whose name I forget but he was a male with dark hair. I explained how my dog was drug to the back and how took 3 hours after I was asked to bring her early for her to only sit in the kennel and wait. He could’ve cared less anything I was saying, never really apologized. Just told me it’s policy to not pick dog up, I said so it’s ok to drag her by her throat? Mind you when they brought to me at the end of cut they were holding her. He was dismissive and not apologetic at all. Also I asked about the walk ins when I had an appt and now my dog has to wait? He said he can’t turn away walk ins for nail trims even if it’s 30 of them, I asked even on a busy holiday weekend? He said he yes that’s store policy, so my dog has to wait who has an appt for people that just walk in with none, gotcha. With all that being said this will be my LAST haircut for my cookie girl at Venice PETCO.

It was the worst experience I have ever had at Pet Co. I have been going to the salon in Venice Florida had for over 8 years and never had any complains. The groomer I had for the 2nd time. The first time was awful but figured that it was the first time with my dog. She told me he had a seizer while she was grooming him. I took him to the vet. It was not one. This time she took over 3 hours. He was a mess. Did not cut his ears short Like I had asked and he was chopped and dirty ears and nails were not touched. The salon was a mess. When I payed the bill I hadnt seen my dog yet I was charged $81.00 dollars for nothing. She came out before my dog and told me she didnt think the salon was right for him. Too much work and suggested I go to a salon that wasn't so busy. I called and filed a complaint with custom service! I would like a refund !!!
