  I made an appointment at Vetco for 2/27 at 2:30pm because my dog was experiencing diarrhea. She also has a heart murmur, so dehydration is always a serious concern for us. Earlier that day, the office texted asking if I could arrive at 2:00pm instead. I responded that I would try. Unfortunately, due to heavy rain and traffic, I arrived at 2:10pm. When I walked in, there was no one in the waiting area and the exam room doors were open. However, because I was considered late for the earlier requested time, they refused to see my dog and told me their schedule was completely booked. They offered to reschedule me for the following day. Given my concerns about my dog’s condition, waiting another day was not something I was comfortable with. I then called Banfield Pet Hospital. The receptionist told me they were fully booked but would check to see if they could squeeze her in. Less than 30 seconds later, he told me to bring her right down. When we arrived, it was clear how busy they were — but we were greeted with genuine kindness and compassion from start to finish. The front desk staff, the vet tech, and especially Dr. Gupta were incredibly caring and attentive. They never made me feel rushed or like an inconvenience. While I was very disappointed with my experience at Vetco, I am truly grateful to Banfield Pet Hospital of South Tampa. If it weren’t for that negative experience, I wouldn’t have found such an amazing, compassionate team to care for my dog.

  My dog was a little lost between vets before we found Dr. Andy Leung. Dr. Leung is an extremely caring physician who goes above and beyond to provide the best care for your small companion. Unfortunately, my dog was diagnosed with a tumor last year, and Dr. Leung identified it promptly and coordinated all the necessary referrals and tests for its successful removal. The continuity of care has been excellent, and he always strives to do what is best for your pet. The entire team is amazing the front desk staff and medical assistants are truly passionate about their work.

  Unfortunately, the clinic only reached out after a negative review was posted, and even then no real effort was made to resolve the issue. The interaction felt more about managing their online reputation than addressing concerns. Overall, there was an excessive focus on billing, which made it seem like financial gain was prioritized over the animal’s well-being. This was disappointing and not what I would expect from a veterinary practice.

  As first time cat owner, Petco Dale Mabry location has educated me so much about caring for my cat. They love animals and I have great experience with them. My cat just had a spay operation, and everything worked out to be what they told me. I will recommend Petco Veterinary Clinic to anyone.

  I brought my young cat to this clinic to be spayed. Unfortunately, the surgery was incomplete and one ovary was left behind. After the procedure, my cat continued to have repeated heat cycles. The clinic acknowledged that ovarian tissue remained. Despite this being a known surgical complication and directly related to the original procedure, the clinic refused to redo the surgery at no cost. This left me having to pay again to correct an error from the initial spay, while my cat continued to experience unnecessary stress from ongoing heat cycles. What made the situation more frustrating was the lack of communication. When I called the clinic to discuss this, I was kept on hold for long periods and did not receive clear answers to my questions. Overall, the handling of the situation showed a lack of accountability and concern once the problem was identified.
