The employees look like untrained kids, and the whole store reflects their lack of care. The fish tanks were dirty, cloudy, and poorly maintained, with fish that clearly weren’t being taken care of. The worst part was when I went to buy a fish. The employee grabbed a plastic bag and started filling it using a cup, spilling more water on the floor than what actually went into the bag. It was unbelievable to watch. Then, after finally getting the fish inside, he dropped it, and the fish died because of his carelessness. Completely unacceptable. This location desperately needs proper training, supervision, and basic standards of animal care. I will not be coming back, and I don’t recommend this place to anyone who actually cares about the animals they’re buying.

She assured me the fish was non-aggressive, so I added it to my established tank where all of my fish were perfectly healthy. Soon after, I ended up losing three fish because the one she sold me was actually aggressive. As soon as I got home and looked it up online, every source confirmed it was not compatible with peaceful fish. This is information any trained employee should know before recommending or selling a fish on my behalf. On top of that, the way she handled the fish was very unprofessional. Instead of using a net, she tried to scoop the fish with the plastic container Petco uses to transfer fish from the net and after the bag. She kept trying over and over, stressing the fish even more than when they use a net and nearly injuring them in the process. This whole experience cost me money, time, and the lives of three healthy fish. I trusted the staff to provide accurate information and handle these animals properly, but this visit proved the opposite. I would never recommend buying fish from here at all or even worse any kind of animal.
