I am quite surprised with how negative recent reviews are, staff are very kind and extremely helpful. Gianna in particular was a standout, no snarkiness or attitude—she was quite polite, so I guess I was lucky.

I had one of the most unpleasant and unnecessary customer service interactions I’ve experienced in a long time at this location, specifically with an employee named Maria. When I first checked out, Maria was laying on the counter and texting on her phone during the transaction. Extremely unprofessional. Previous Google reviews of her specifically sing the same tune. For context, my family and I rescued five dogs. While actively nursing them back to health, I came to this store to purchase dog food, probiotics, and supplements. My initial purchase totaled approximately $260. After loading my car, & after speaking with my husband—I realized that I needed additional supplements and probiotics. I re-entered the store at 8:58 PM. Maria immediately said, “Sorry, we’re closed,” and attempted to physically block the entryway. I calmly explained that the store closes at 9:00 PM, which is clearly posted, and showed her the time—8:58 PM. I also let her know I would be in and out within two minutes, as I was already present in the store and did not want to make a return trip the next day. She repeatedly raised her voice, insisting they were “lItEraLLy closed,” despite the posted hours and the time displayed. As someone who has worked in retail for years, it is standard practice that if a customer is inside the store before closing, they are allowed to complete their purchase—especially when it takes under two minutes. I even pointed out that the back-and-forth was only prolonging the interaction. A male coworker (whose name I did not get) stepped in and said he would ring me out. At that point, Maria stomped off to the back of the store.I exited the store at 9:01 PM. Imagine spending $400+ and having this interaction. Interactions like this are exactly why customers stop patronizing brick-and-mortar businesses. I will personally never return to this location—or Petco in general. As a company, I strongly suggest hiring employees who actually reflect your mission and values. Otherwise, you will continue pushing customers toward competitors like Amazon, who will put you out of business.

My dog passed away after grooming from Petco due to negligence and Petco refuses to give me a reason or explanation as to what happened. For your family and your own pet’s health and safety do not bring your pet to Petco!!! My dog was in perfectly good health and went to the vet 2 days before and was perfectly healthy. After dropping my dog off to get groomed Petco called to say my french bulldog was vomiting and his gums were pale. I now realize something happened which they refuse to disclose and Petco basically gave my dog back to not take responsibility for whatever they might have done. My french bulldog unfortunately stopped breathing soon after being picked up from Petco and passed away. I spoke to the grooming manager and the Petco district manager who said they would do an investigation and no information has been told me. I cannot stress this enough DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO PETCO!!!! Here is a text message from Petco’s district manager claiming an investigation was done but no information could be disclosed to me.
