- V4Vithi 442Mar 26, 20261.0I went this afternoon to the Petco at Millenia around 6:40 PM looking to buy a green damselfish. I was helped by a salesperson named Dom, who refused to sell me the fish. She was very misinformed and claimed that this fish requires a 100-gallon aquarium. I have been keeping fish for a long time and knew that wasn’t true. I have a 20-gallon and a 40-gallon tank, and I explained to her that this fish does not need all that, but she still refused to sell it to me. I left to avoid any problems, and while in my car I looked it up on Google and found that the recommended tank size is around 25 to 30 gallons. I then returned to the store and showed this to the same salesperson. Even so, she had someone else assist me and sell me the fish. This situation was very disappointing. I ask that you provide better training for your employees so you don’t lose sales like this. I have a membership with Petco and visit weekly, always buying fish and food for my reptiles. However, this incident really upset me due to the lack of knowledge from the salesperson. For that reason, I give this experience a zero rating. From now on, I will stop going to this store to avoid situations like this. There is a PetSmart right in front of my house, and I used to go out of my way to come here—but after today, you have lost a customer. Thank you and good evening.
