I consistently take my dog here every month. I started when he was 3 months old. I know my dog can be difficult to brush because he is not a fan of it. I was extremely disappointed last time I picked him up though. The groomers told me that he was giving them trouble. I was upset to hear that, but understood. I asked for advice on how to help him get used to brushing. I thought brushing at home and taking him monthly would eventually desensitize him to brushing. As he is 1 year old now. I was met with such rudeness from the groomers. They truly acted like I was a bad dog mom. As if I don’t go there once or twice a month for grooms. I told them that I was using a wet brush to help him at least get used to brushing. They said that would not be useful at all. I felt like all they wanted to do was complain about my dog but not help me. They were extremely dismissive to any ideas, but didn’t give any advice. I was very disappointed. I go there monthly for grooming appointments and I am sad that I have to go somewhere else. They didn’t even give him a bandana which to me felt like the last kick in the butt really. I’ve always tipped, been kind, and offered to help at home. Please don’t take your dog here, they do not care.

Not happy because I've been waiting since 2/19 for my dogs pet food and still nothing so had to call them and they advised me the company wasn't making anymore. I went to my local Petco store and they had several bags on the shelf so I just bought it rather than keep on waiting.

I usually have a wonderful experience at Petco and Vetco. The staff have always been very kind and welcoming, and I’ve been in several times over the past month.
This Sunday, since the vaccine clinic requires you to check out at the front cashier, I was holding my puppy, who recently underwent treatment for Giardia and coccidia, to avoid him touching surfaces. A Petco cashier commented that how I was holding him was bad for his spine, without knowing the situation and that I was only holding him for a very short time to avoid touching public surfaces. I’m sure it was meant to be helpful, but it felt uncomfortable and a little judgmental in the moment.
Overall, the Vetco staff and visit was amazing as usual. I hope that in the future all Petco staff can be mindful about giving unsolicited advice without knowing the full context.

PSA: Do NOT have your dog groomed here.
We brought our dog, Koda (a dachshund/terrier mix with a natural ridgeback), in for grooming. His ridgeback had grown out a bit, and we specifically asked for it to be trimmed (with scissors), not shaved to bare skin!
Instead, the groomer, Alondra, shaved the ridge all the way down to the skin. When I asked what guard was used, she claimed there was “no guard” on a #5 razor, which makes no sense and raises serious concerns about how this was handled.
The result was not what we requested, not what we approved, and left our dog with bare skin where there should never have been. Despite this, we were still charged $78 for the cut and wash.
This was careless, unacceptable, and poorly handled. Management seriously needs to address this and if Alondra was my employee, immediate termination would be necessary. We will never come here for grooming again.
Before and after photos below. The picture with Koda’s ear flipped up is before and shows his ridgeback hair. The photo of his back shows where Alondra gouged him with the clippers.
