It seems like a good place to bring my dog. I’m new in town, just moved here from another country. The vet team was nice — I’ve only had one visit so far for a heartworm test and to sign up for the wellness plan.
The only issue I had was with the front desk. I didn’t feel very welcome when I asked about using my voucher. I had booked the appointment by email with the voucher, and I thought that was enough, but nobody told me I had to show it at the visit. Later I realized the voucher should have covered the membership fee. I called to ask if they could help fix it, but the person I spoke with wasn’t helpful and the way it was handled didn’t make me feel comfortable.
I hope things go better from here. If not, we’ll probably move on after the first year.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE If you love your pet and care about them find literally anywhere else to go. These people do not care, they are either too tired or too new to do things properly. They will not take responsibility when they make mistakes. I brought my cat in over urinary issues in which the vet told me he was inflamed and not blocked then they forgot to give him the medicine that they charged me for. When I brought him back the next morning the staff was so uninformed of what happened the previous day that the receptionist thought she'd have to charge me for another visit. When they finally did take him back come to find out that he actually was blocked and his fluids and electrolytes were low. I needed to rush him to the UF pet hospital that ended up being a 4 day stay.
The vet or tech who was asking me questions clearly couldn't handle my stress at this situation that they prolonged. Pretty rude and unprofessional. This delayed his care by 24 hours. I'm not even sure if they actually physically examined my cat on that first day I brought him in. I can't help but wonder if he may not have needed prolonged care if the original vet was doing his job.
On top of this no one takes responsibility whatsoever. It takes over a week for me to speak to somebody in charge and all I really wanted to know at the end of all of this was what they were going to do to prevent stuff like this from happening again never got a call back. Just shuffled from the office manager to the general manager back to the office manager who couldn't even be bothered to call me back.
You know what going to the UF hospital and seeing how vets who really care take the time to talk to you and explain things to you about what your cat needs for their care instead of just trying to push prescription foods or a wellness plan on you made it all really sink in how bad Banfield is.

I really hate that I have to write this but it needs to be done for my poor Valentina. She was spayed with Banfield on 9/11 and ultimately bled out to death on 9/15 from her sutures busting open and her entire lower intestines were exposed. When I called Banfield in severe distress, I was put on hold for almost 10 minutes. Those 10 minutes could have been utilized in my opinion. When I had explained what was happening while trying to keep myself together the receptionist stated “well it is a major abdomen surgery .. things like that happen” .. things like that happen?? Excuse me??? She then put me on hold again to see where I could take my sweet angel baby. They gave me two locations.. OnPoint Urgent Clinic or the UF clinic inside of WEC. Well when I brought Valentina to OnPoint the vet there stated I should have traveled to Gainesville as NOBODY in Ocala would have been properly equipped for the type of emergency surgery she would have needed and that she has NEVER seen anything like this in all her years being a Vet. This facility was INCREDIBLY cold in this situation. My PUPPY who was not even 6 months old died 4 days after a procedure with Banfield and they still want me to pay for her wellness plan. I can’t even access her portfolio on the app because she was removed yet the facility is still charging my account for services that my dog died from. Every single place that has had an experience with Valentina has called me to offer condolences in regard to her death. From her obedience instructor to the emergency clinic Vet who had no choice but to euthanize all called, even just to ask how I was doing after this traumatic experience. And to make the matters worse emotionally, my sweet angel baby’s sister was spayed with the facility and they gave her “extra precautions” because her owner found out what happened to my baby and expressed that she was severely concerned for her health and well being. So with all this being said.. I will be contacting corporate in regard to this matter. I truthfully feel like my baby didn’t get the “extra precautions” she should have gotten like how ALL of their furry patients should get regardless. My poor Valentina .. we trusted you .. SHE trusted you .. oh and I also have all the pictures still from 9/15 if any vets from Banfield need to see what I’m talking about .. a resolution will not bring my baby back but at least people will now know what kind of facility Banfield is. Here are pictures of my sweet baby girl .. RIP Valentina Talulah Galinda mommy loves you dearly ..
