I had an outstanding experience at Banfield Pet Hospital in Miramar, and I can’t say enough great things about the team there.
I brought my dog in for a suspected ear infection, and from the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, professional, and attentive. First I was seen by the Nurse: Ray and he was absolutely phenomenal. He took the time to thoroughly examine my dog and, more importantly, patiently showed me how to properly and safely clean my dog’s ears at home. He didn’t rush through the explanation and he made sure I understood each step and reassured me that we were already doing a good job. That kind of care and encouragement truly makes a difference for pet owners.
Dr. Barretto was equally impressive. He was incredibly gentle with my dog and explained everything step by step so I felt completely informed and comfortable with the treatment plan. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patients and takes pride in providing thoughtful, compassionate care.
Overall, all the staff at Banfield Miramar are wonderful, kind, knowledgeable, and truly dedicated to the well-being of the animals they treat. I’m very grateful for the experience and highly recommend this location to anyone looking for exceptional veterinary care.

I have been their customer for years. The last time I went, last Saturday the costumer service was not to the normal level I'm used to. My appointment was for an 8 AM drop off. I went a little early, the door was open so I went in. The woman checking me in said I was 45 minutes early for my 8:15. I told her my appt was for 8. T had to weigh the dog and the scale is next to her workstation. My dog loves people so she was on two legs trying to sniff the woman. She was staying away from the workstation, she acted like she didn't like dogs. She said well you're early to take a seat on not ready for you. Ok, only after we moved away did she go back to her computer. The tech comes in and speaks with her. She said again he's here for an 8:15. I said no, I'm here for my 8 am appt. We exchanged a few more words. The tech finally came and took my dog. She was pleasant. They called me and said we stayed a series of vaccines that require regular boosters but we never have the booster so you have to start all over again. You think they would schedule the future visits on check out. Obviously didn't happen.

I have to discourage other cat owners from going to this location. Overall they did not seem experienced with cats. My records from the visit are missing any information regarding the main reasons why we made a visit. My cats’ weights were also recorded incorrectly, then changed twice, and still wrong. One of my cats is elderly and losing weight, so getting something that basic right really mattered to me. I would imagine it also matters for amount of medication they would need. When I asked for guidance on caring for an older cat, I received vague answers and little real help.
They also repeatedly tried to switch the conversation to Spanish. I don't speak it often I am not as fluent anymore, and it takes me longer to understand things in Spanish. I explained that I prefer English, yet they continued to push Spanish anyway. This was frustrating and stressful, especially since I was paying for clear guidance about my cat’s health. Overall, not a good experience for cat care.

Like all veterinary places, they want you to buy more than what you really need.

On 01/14/2026, I brought my kitten to this location for a routine neuter. He had prior checkups, was up to date on vaccines, and I was told his age and weight were appropriate for the procedure. About two hours after I dropped him off, I received a call informing me that my kitten had passed away.
During the follow-up conversation, the veterinarian told me the cause was an anesthesia overdose, and that they were unable to save him.
This has been an extremely painful experience. I am sharing this respectfully—not to attack any individual—but to encourage the clinic to review what happened, strengthen protocols, and to urge other pet owners to ask detailed questions before any procedure involving anesthesia. I would appreciate a formal response from management regarding this incident.
