But, I had an uncomfortable experience today. Towards the end of our session, i brought up the want to get my pup familiar with groomers soon. She recommended me to their in store stylists to get his nails trimmed and buffed for the first time. I was super happy that the stylists were excited to take him in for a quick walk in. He seemed to love the energy of the stylists in there! Melina offered to be there while my pup got his nails trimmed to give treats and help my pup get accustomed to this new routine. That was super sweet of her and i was more than okay with it given the fact that his first encounter was going to be a positive one! While inside, managers were constantly looking for her and muttering that she isn’t a groomer and it isn’t her job to be back there. (Even though she was actively with her student during a paid 1 on 1 class.) Eventually someone pulled her out of the room and must’ve informed her to go do her “job” but her job to work with her students, which is exactly what she was doing. I was way more comfortable with my trainer being in the room to calm and comfort him into being open to future visits. I could visually see that he was doing so much better with Melina in the room versus when she left, he freaked out. To Alex, Daniel and any other manager at the Petco on 88th, please allow Melina to continue to work close with her students. Especially if a great amount of money was invested in this training. She is an incredible trainer and my puppy is learning so much from her. We’re excited to continue to grow and train with her. Please treat her with kindness! Thank you. (the 5 stars is for Melina!)
