Stephanie is the worst receptionist, truly. They need to hire someone else. I don’t know how she manages to change and ruin my appointments every time for my pup, but it is without fail. Glad my puppy is almost done with vaccines and won’t have to return frequently.

Although my Baby Sadie would give it a 1 star lol. They were great with her. She didn't like the vaccines, but she survived lol. But in all seriousness, they were gentle with her. Offered her treats which she snubbed her nose at (she is a little snob). She is on the kitten plan, so her care is affordable. The only thing is they were running severely behind. Got seen almost an hour past our appointment time.

I have their wellness plan on two of my dogs there I made an appointment to stay in room with my dog because I live 45 minutes away. I was told when I get there that I have to leave my dog. They have no in room appointments that they’re online booking isn’t working. This is probably the sixth time that they have done this to me. They told me to be there at 8:45 AM which I was they did not come to take my dog until 10:11 AM. They never called me once throughout the day to give me an update about my dog. I had to call them at 3:30 PM to find out the status of my dog. At that time, they tell me the doctor had an emergency and had to leave and that they were going to wash my dog’s face and put ointment on it But they haven’t even done anything to her yet she had been sitting in a crate all day with no food at this hospital and they were going to charge me $75 for wiping my dog face with a medical wipe and putting antibiotic cream on it. I said no thank you I’ll come pick up my dog when I got there to pick up my dog I had to wait another hour and 20 minutes before they released her to me as the entire lobby was full of people waiting on their animals. I understand that things happen and the doctor was called away, but this was the most unprofessional and ridiculous thing I had ever seen no communication no nothing and unfortunately, this is not the first time that I’ve had issues with Banfield. They charged me for seven months for Medication that my dog never even received and when I contact them to ask if I can receive my I get nowhere. I’ve left emails. I’ve made phone calls and no one does anything when this wellness plan is over after a year I will be canceling. This company is currently being sued because of the wellness plan. People are being overcharged for services and being pushed into the wellness plan. I’m sorry especially the Lakeland location and Brandon Bloomfield has been the most unorganized and unprofessional out of all of the Banfields I’ve been to and as soon as my year is up, I will be leaving them and finding a new provider. I would give them zero stars if I could.

Think and Read before coming here
I have the puppy wellness plan here and is a very great when reading the perks it comes with but my problems come from the vet care. My dog had his first broken toe and my first experience of a dog going through an injury like that. After spending extra to have the x-ray to have a clear view on how to have them heal my dog the best way possible. I went home with a cast and the cast slipped off that night, I went back the next day and they charged me again to get it rewrapped after they did the work wrong. The doctor had a staff meeting when I came to pick up my dog and he didn’t get to talk to me and so I went home with meds and a puppy in a cast with no clue on what to expect. After a week visit the doctor checked the foot out and saw progress of healing and went home and went for a walk 2nd follow up a week later. In week 3 after the injury I saw a different doctor as the previous one is in leave so Dr.Merkle saw my dog. I wasn’t there but was told to the next day that they took my dog to the back and after a while they walked out with nothing on his foot and told my brother to buy a dog shoe to use that instead of a cast. I wasn’t confused as this is totally different from a cast and they also took away the splint I paid for away. After calling the office to speak with the doctor I waited a few days and got a call. In the very beginning of the call Dr.Merkle was very aggressive and condescending and mean as she was basically blaming me that my dog got hurt and that h rid in a cast because I a bad owner. At that point respect was out and so I had her repeat what was said at the appointment and I asked what happened to the cast and where did it go and she told me that they threw it away and the garbage already came and I was concerned on how a shoe is better than a cast. She had already scared my brother by saying that they might amputate his toe/foot you don’t say something that serious unless it becomes something serious and when they threw away the cast they tossed the splint that was very expensive from them and could be reused. During the call she kept throwing the other doctor under the bus for him recommending the cast and not the shoe and I didn’t care what the other doctor recommend I’m trying to find out what’s right for my dog. So now I’m having a meeting with higher up people because it’s not right for me to drop about $870 in 3 weeks just to ignore all that money and go to a $30 doggy shoe. So I would really consider before coming and getting stuck with a year contract and being stuck with them. I will be doing right for my animals and even if that means going somewhere else.
If you are new or going through something similar of being tossed around.
Dr.Watson was good I didn’t have much interaction with him I didn’t like that he never talked to me about what’s to be expected.
Dr.Merkle isn’t going to be who I see in the future for my dog or cats as I didn’t appreciate for my first interaction to be her being disrespectful over the phone and in person she never took accountability on how she treated me or my brother because fear is not a way to control someone.
I don’t know her name but one of the receptionist who is a white lady in her 50’s she is very insistent to get you to change your mind and make you give up on finding answers.
I will hopefully find true answers from Dr.Oden and Ms.Maria and will be waiting to see if there is management who is here to help.
If you need true guidance then ask Karleye and the anesthesiologist Latina who I forgot her name to be there to ask for realness. As they gave me confidence to keep getting help as I was giving up hope and will not. My name is Fabian Hernandez I have 2 animals in the wellness plan both dog and cat and when the first accident happened to my dog I have more hassle than if I were to seek help elsewhere. I’ve been going through this back and forth for 3 weeks and will be considering very much on wether to stay or not.
