Store staff very nice. However I spent 1.5 hours last visit trying to straighten out my account (they said there is a new system and I needed updating). We did all of that and I had a credit remaining from my previous visits (I spent about $400 the past 3 months). I was told points/rewards no longer expire. I had no points/rewards. Drove almost 30 minutes to the store. No rewards - higher prices than chewy. Long drive. Doesn't make sense for me anymore.

I'm a beginner freshwater fish owner and was in need of good starter advice on how to care for my new pet fishes and their tank. Peri at the register was insightful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Peri is a wonderful employee and really sets the standard. The store was also really clean and organized which was a bonus.

I left a terrible review for petco Gainesville saying they were rude. I’m sorry for doing that, I should’ve taken my issue up with management before posting a review and I’m sorry for doing so. They weren’t rude, they were looking out for the rat’s best interest and I couldn’t look past the fact that the items were for sale. I should not have made a big deal out of it. Archibald and Pickle will be so well taken care of, like two Queens ruling one Queendom. I messed up my interaction in this and I apologize to Katherine, Alexis and Jen for my tone and attitude. Please, I hope they can forgive me and help me get my daughter a Rat. I’ll buy the cage. Please. I’m sorry.

Dog and cat selection is good, I go there almost every other week and I just can't stay quiet anymore. Your cashier - Jeena, she is rude, tries to argue with me, each time I question a sale price (today it was few dog and cat cans)...then, as I ask her to not stuff all them in one bag with treats - she gets visibly angry. This is not a person that you should have up front, person that is the last step your customer is to experience.

If i could leave 0 i would. They don't really have the best employees caring for the animals. I noticed a fish that clearly was expierencing a medical issue (not to mention several other dead fish in the tanks) the fish needed WAY more than they could possibly do in their limited time with them, the manager Rachel 1st offered a 25% discount then when confronted with how she lacked empathy for the fish and would rather chat it up sitting on the floor with another employee than address the situation she refused to even give it to someone who could give it a chance to survive. When called out on her lies of not being able to sell then offering a discount she got upset and walked away. The bacterial infection the fish had could contaminate the tanks system and possibly affect the other fish but unfortunately she didnt have the heart to care. We will not be spending money where the animals well being is not considered that is clearly abuse to let an animal suffer the " salt water" she was suggesting wouldnt even touch the disease the fish had but they clearly do not care about an animal if they lack the knowledge to even care for it.
