Honestly, before this Vet was associated with Banfield-I loved them. After they were bought by Banfield they stopped caring about the animals and only started caring about the money. I was quoted a service that was 3 times as expensive as it was at another vet in the area. I was a member of their Pet Plan too. Honestly this is the most expensive vet in the area that provides sub-par services.

I have a very hard time believing all these good reviews. I cannot emphasize enough how much you should AVOID Banfield at ALL COSTS. They see wayyyyy more pets than they should for how little staff they have. Every time I went even with an appointment I would wait at least an hour for a rushed visit with the vet. I got suckered into their payment plan after my cat's first "incident". This is where I discovered he had FELV/ feline HIV- I think the vet assumed I had known because they breezed past it and only stopped to explain once I started crying. I took him back multiple times for multiple different rounds of treatments for an ear infection that never got better until I finally was pushed to go to UF- one of the worst moments of my life. Overnight, my cat developed breathing issues and I rushed him to Banfield when they opened in the morning. I was told, essentially, that he was dying. The vet told me he would likely need to be kept overnight and kept on oxygen, which they couldn't do at Banfield. She priced me at 1k for them to do "everything they could", but for "better prognosis of survival, you should go to UF." I rush to the UF emergency hospital sobbing, fully expecting to have to put down my pet, only to be met with pure confusion. The triage tech at UF literally told me "you know he's not dying, right? He's literally making biscuits back there." I didn't know that because Banfield, whether through incompetence or greed, convinced me he was. His O2 sats were 99%. $300 and some oral antibix later and he's right as rain, sitting next to me as I write this- also NO EAR INFECTION after the oral antibix despite three different topicals Banfield had put me on. I literally shudder to think what might have happened if I agreed for them to do "everything they could." The breathing incident happened about two months ago and I'm still stuck paying their pet insurance plan because there's no way to get out of it before a year. I even have a friend that their cat died and she had to keep paying the plan for months. If you're reading this, maybe you got their coupon for a free visit or you're just thinking of trusting your pet with them- I cannot emphasize how little I trust these people. I wouldn't trust them with a jar of sea monkeys. In the numerous times my pet has been there, they never fixed any of his issues, just provided useless medication after a 15 minute visit and held out their hand for hundreds of dollars. Gainesville doesn't have a ton of options, but I hope I have convinced you, dear reader, Banfield should not be yours.

Sure, I can help you with that. Here’s a draft of the review: ⸻ I had a disappointing experience with Banfield Pet Hospital. The staff, especially the receptionist, came across as condescending and management seemed to condone unprofessional behavior. Customer service was equally frustrating, with long hold times and a lack of clear explanations. Whenever I raised concerns, they justified everything without a hint of apology. I would not recommend this pet hospital!
