I do not have words to express how grateful we are for the Dunnellon Animal Hospital. Availability for appointments is awesome, the cost is fair and reasonable, the services they afford are great, and the staff are ALL SO supreme. Even if we didn’t live in this area, we’d be driving here to have our 5 animals taken care of at this facility. I would give them more than five stars if I could!

New to the area and we were very pleased with our visit, the office staff and the Dr. Our boxer had a rough night of trying to throw up something and just couldn't do we got in right after I called to see if we were able to get an appointment almost immediately. All is well with our fur baby and now we've found a new Vet. Plus they give a Veteran discount.👍👍🦮

I thought I had found a vet office that would be there for my pet but I found them uncompassionate in my pets time of need. My elderly dog Molly suffered a medical emergency that I knew was life ending. I called to receive help and the only thing offered was UF Emergency. I tried to explain that she was an old dog and I probably needed end of life care. I was upset and desperate and all the lady heard was that I didn’t want to spend money at UF. What I wanted was her vet that has promised to be there for at the end to help. I consented to a Thursday appointment after. Being backed into a corner and was told well if UF recommends end of life maybe we can squeeze her in tomorrow. Who does that? The staff member I talked to needs training to speak to customers in need. She’s either never had a fur baby near end of life or seen too much. They were great to take my money in good times and quick to dismiss her when it counted. I’m sure I’m just a number but I loved this vet office until I really needed them.

I had been taking my boxer to them for sometime but near the end of her life, the quality of care and their treatment of me and my dog was lacking. I had accepted it was near her time but the doctor would tell me she should get better, so I went with the treatment plan. After her last visit, I was instructed to call last Monday, so I did. One of the office staff calls me and tells me the doctor would be calling me back that afternoon, it’s a week later and he still hasn’t called back. She passed last Tuesday. I would think that a veterinarian would have seen numerous dogs near the end of life. I kept saying I think she has cancer and he would raise my hopes that maybe she’ll get better. I will never take another animal to Dunnellon Animal Hospital and I don’t recommend that you do either.

My partner and I adopted a small hound dog from a shelter. He's a wonderful playful loving part of our family and we love him to death. Unfortunately life as it does took a turn for my partner and I and we are no longer together and there is no contact between us. Why does this matter? Im getting to that. That little puppy we adopted was adopted with a handicap. He has only 3 legs. One of his front legs had been amputated. That handicap has never stopped him from having fun. He's probably the fastest pup in the neighborhood. Unfortunately he's so active he injured his other front leg today. So badly that he sits on his chest wincing because he can't move. So I contacted Dunnellon to have him seen which is where his Dr. is. I feel terrible for what he's going through right now. I couldn't believe that I was told that because my spouse was on his account at Dunnellon but I was not, they would have to reach out to my ex the "owner" before he could be treated. Well I and the rest of our family are the owners. I tried to explain without making it to personal that our family hasn't seen nor heard from my ex in months and we have no idea how to contact her. But Freddy our pup is still loved a cherished very much. I couldn't believe they wouldn't let him come in for treatment. Telling me I was rude because I was forced to explain personal life situations when all I wanted was care for Freddy. We can't always help life changes. But we should still be able to seek care for our pets regardless. Pretty sad. It's not Freddy's fault his mom left. But I guess it's Dads fault for trying to protect him and get him the care he needs. Fortunately for Fred we found someone else to give him the care he needs without question. He has to wait until tomorrow but that will have to do. In the meantime I will carry him to eat and bathroom breaks. So sad Dunnellon. Don't bother with a sorry to hear about my experience response. You guys left my little buddy hanging and in pain. And for the record, it wasn't at all about being put first. It's was simply about getting care. Even if I had to wait a day.
