  Based on my experience today at the Deerfield Beach store, I’d think twice before returning. Prices higher than PertSmart, unfriendly staff, they required to get a prescription card in order to pay. When asked the reason, they replied: “ it’s easier for us”. Management, do better!

  My husband and I are frequent shoppers at this store for many years. We usually deal with Naomi when visiting this location. Since she’s been onboard at this store, the aquatic fish area has improved greatly in every aspect and she is always happy to assist me and answer any questions I may have. In fact, on many occasions she helped me with my tanks at home when I implemented her suggestions so as to avoid an issue with my fish. She is extremely helpful and knowledgeable in this area in particular. but I also hear her helping other customers while I am in the store and it’s refreshing to see someone go out of their way in giving customer service and she seems to have quite a following of people eager for her input. This store has improved greatly and it is evident how much better the stock is of the tanks overall since she’s been here. Naomi’s always willing to help and her customer service skills are outstanding.

  I had such a great experience with Sabel! I asked for a “Mr. Mullet” hairstyle for my dog, and she absolutely nailed it—better than I even imagined. She really took the time to understand exactly what I wanted and executed it perfectly. Not only did my pup come out looking adorable and stylish, but Sabel also paid close attention to his comfort and care. His paws and nails were done so gently and thoroughly, which I truly appreciate. You can tell she genuinely cares about the pets she works with. Highly recommend Sabel if you want someone skilled, patient, and attentive. We’ll definitely be coming back! I added my Before & After pictures.

  I scheduled a puppy training class at the Petco in Deerfield Beach with trainer Sonny F and had a very disappointing experience. I was really excited to begin training my puppy, so I purchased all the supplies required for the class ahead of time. I then drove nearly an hour to the store for the scheduled session, only to find out that no one at the store seemed to know anything about the class. After asking the staff at the front, they eventually spoke with the store manager who informed me that the trainer (Sonny F) had taken PTO and was not working that day. Unfortunately, no one notified me that the class had been canceled — no phone call, email, or message. This resulted in a completely wasted trip and a lot of frustration. To make matters worse, when I asked for a refund I was told that only the trainer could process it, meaning I would have to come back when he is working. Customer service was also unable to resolve the issue, which made the situation even more frustrating. For a company the size of Petco, better communication and customer service should be expected.
