We had an incredible experience with Valentina, our dog trainer at Petco, during the 6-week puppy training course. From the very first class, it was clear that she genuinely cares about both the dogs and their owners. She brought a level of patience, knowledge, and enthusiasm that made every session something we actually looked forward to.
Valentina has a great ability to read each dog’s personality and tailor her approach accordingly. Our puppy started out easily distracted and a bit stubborn, but with her guidance, we saw steady and noticeable improvement week after week. She broke down each command and behavior in a way that was easy to understand and replicate at home, which made a huge difference in our consistency and results.
What really stood out was how supportive and encouraging she was—not just with the dogs, but with us as owners. She never made anyone feel rushed or discouraged, and she always took the time to answer questions and give extra tips specific to our puppy’s behavior. Her positive reinforcement methods clearly work, and she explains the “why” behind everything, which helped us feel more confident continuing the training on our own.
By the end of the 6 weeks, our puppy was more attentive, better behaved, and much more responsive to commands. More importantly, we feel like better, more capable dog owners thanks to Valentina.
If you’re considering puppy training, we highly recommend working with her. She goes above and beyond, and it truly shows in the results.

I had such a great experience with Valentina at Petco’s dog training program. I enrolled my puppy in the 6 week puppy class, where she covered basic commands like sit, stay, down, come, and stand. by the end of the course, my puppy had successfully learned them all. My puppy absolutely loves going to class and gets super excited. One thing to keep in mind about all Petco training classes is that you do need to put in the work at home. You must practice what you learned in class while at home and that is crucial to your dogs success.
Valentina truly goes above and beyond. She breaks everything down step by step and makes sure you understand how to properly train your dog, not just during class but at home as well. She’s incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping you become a responsible dog owner.
What really stood out to me and my husband is how Valentina offers so much advice and guidance beyond the 6 training classes. She gave us helpful tips on things like potty training and managing barking during dinner, which is making a huge difference in our daily lives
Valentina is absolutely amazing, and I can’t recommend her enough. It’s 100% worth it having a controlled dog that actually listens to your commands. I’ve already signed my puppy up for the next session!
Manager “Patrick” was very condescending and dismissive when we tried to get a refund for an unused item with original receipt within 30 days. We didn’t need a store credit since we get utilities from the Humane Society with their foster program. He insists there’s absolutely no way to refund it and that we need to come back the next morning to speak to “Ryan”, and after we refuse, he is suddenly able to get on the phone with Ryan and refund our money. As his last act of scorning us before processing the refund he loudly states to Ryan that he won’t put othe unused item back on the sales floor.

Had dog Shiloh there on March 17th and due to the death of my mother on the 18th I didn’t get Chewy to try to renew Shilohs Meloxicam until April 3rd. We’re told we have to go through the whole process again. We can’t afford that and shouldn’t have to do it, less than a month since visit! So I guess the animal has to suffer with pain till she dies also?
Most times clean. Do not carry everything. But was told they would order it for you and have it delivered to your home.
