I bought a starfish here, and he is the brightest biggest joy that could ever walk in our life. He is smart, loving, and been growing more beautifully. He was a little sick, and I got his medication else where (they don’t have all the supplies either you have to shop around). The staff was supportive, and keep the store clean and are always available to help or doing their job maintaining inventory. Highly recommend their salt water fish but know what your getting into before you buy it and kill the animal (they talk)

I’m deeply grateful for the kindness from Angely and Dr.Costas. I’ve had been with my girl Bella over there with Dr.Oneal as well and I always felt humanity from everyone. A totally different experience from the VetCo in Deerfield Beach. Over there they’ve treated me and my pet with indifference. I had a sic dog and they’ve refused to see my dog sending me to and ER.
The next day Angely(Coral Springs) sent me a message asking how my dog was doing and offered help. Same branch different humans and KINDNESS, this makes the whole difference.
I’ll drive longer but always will go there to bring my cat.
Absolutely million stars.
They let me say goodbye to my baby and that meant a lot to me. Forever grateful for the team🙏🏽
Disturbing sanitation practices and extremely unprofessional conduct at Vetco in Petco Coral Springs.
I dislike leaving negative reviews, but our experience at Vetco inside Petco in Coral Springs demands attention and action.
We recently moved from East Boca and were looking for a veterinarian closer to our new home. We had always had positive retail experiences at the Petco in Deerfield and assumed their veterinary services would reflect the same professionalism. We were told the nearest Vetco clinic was in Coral Springs, so we scheduled an appointment there expecting a similar level of care.
Unfortunately, our experience with Dr. Costas was the complete opposite.
The most troubling issue was a basic matter of sanitation and professional procedure. During our visit, the veterinarian placed the vaccination needles directly on the floor of the exam room before administering them to our dog. There was no tray, no sterile surface, and no gloves. This was the same room where sick animals had just been seen, and the floor had not been cleaned between patients. My wife was so shocked by what she saw that she took a photo.
For a veterinary professional to place needles on the floor of a clinical space and then inject them into an animal is, at best, careless and deeply concerning.
Unfortunately, the problems did not stop there.
Dr. Costas’ demeanor toward us was one of the most condescending and combative interactions I have ever experienced in a professional setting. When my wife tried to explain that she simply wanted to confirm our dog’s vaccinations were up to date to prevent issues like fleas or infections—for the dog and for us—the response we received was abrupt and dismissive:
“Ma’am, we DO NOT have vaccines for you.”
From that point forward, the tone remained hostile. When we discussed our dog’s diet—which is a combination of Pro Plan and fresh protein—Dr. Costas repeatedly interrupted and dismissed us rather than listening to the information we were providing about our own pet.
The situation escalated further when we moved to the lobby to pay. Our dog is extremely gentle and had shown no behavioral issues throughout the visit. Despite this, Dr. Costas loudly ordered my wife to remove our dog from the space near another dog in the waiting area. When my wife began to respond, the veterinarian raised her voice even further in front of other customers.
It was an unnecessarily aggressive and humiliating interaction that no client should experience.
Our primary concern, however, remains the lack of basic hygiene and professional handling of medical equipment.
Given what we witnessed, we will also be documenting this experience and sharing the information with the appropriate veterinary oversight bodies if necessary. Proper handling of needles and maintaining a sanitary clinical environment are fundamental standards in any medical setting, whether human or veterinary. Pet owners trust veterinary professionals to follow those basic safeguards, and when those standards appear to be ignored it raises serious concerns about the safety of animals being treated in that clinic.
After reading other reviews mentioning similar concerns about Dr. Costas’ demeanor, it appears our experience may not be an isolated incident.
Petco and Vetco should take this feedback seriously. Pet owners trust veterinary professionals with the health and safety of their animals. That trust requires professionalism, respect, and basic clinical hygiene standards—all of which were absent during our visit.
We sincerely hope Petco/Vetco leadership reviews this matter carefully and takes appropriate action so other families and pets do not have the same experience.
The rudest, most arrogant, and incompetent veterinarian I have ever seen. We left Boca Raton, miles away, to see this arrogant woman named Jerry Costas simply because her assistant recommended her. She is extremely unpleasant and I would never recommend her, nor would anyone ever go to her. I'm sure this isn't just about me; I'm certain she's been equally rude and arrogant to other people, exhibiting such low-quality behavior. Furthermore, she drops needles on the floor when giving injections and doesn't wear gloves; she acts like a butcher. I'm sure people will take this review seriously in the future. She uses her own unhappiness negatively towards high-energy pet owners. That's why my husband and I feel so good about leaving her to her own misery. I'm only sad that I took my pet to such an untrustworthy and rude person. If you'd like to see just one of the things they did, I've shared a picture; you can take a look. Stay safe, you and your beloved pet friends.
