- KMKara MerrillJan 6, 20265.0Back in November we rescued a small kitty from a storm drain down in Ft. Lauderdale. She had a limp so I took her right away to an emergency animal hospital. They said that both her back legs were broken and that one of them needed to be amputated right away. I decided a second opinion was needed. I found Heron Lakes on yelp and took our fur baby there early the next day. Dr.Lera and his team were great. He did X-rays and an an evaluation on our baby (named Stormy) and told us that she was very weak and that we needed to get her healthy before taking any action on her legs. Here it is two months later and she is thriving. We still need to address one of her legs but the other has healed nicely. I truly think that Heron lakes and Dr. Lera saved her life. If you want a vet that is caring and truly concerned about you pets well being, and not just making $$, this is the place!

Dr Abel Lera is kind, very knowledgeable and he actually listens and takes a lot of time with you regarding any questions you may have. Our 10 years old Cavachon just went through bladder stones surgery, and we are so grateful for the outcome and excellent care that Dr Lera and his whole team provided for my baby boy Blaze We can’t recommend him enough!!!
