I brought my 13-week-old Yorkie puppy in for her first bath specifically because she had gotten urine on herself and needed a proper cleaning specially around her face, paws, belly, and chest. Unfortunately, those were the exact areas that were not cleaned. When I picked her up, her face still had visible eye discharge, which the groomer even admitted was never cleaned. On top of that, her paws, belly, and chest still smelled strongly of urine. The only part that seemed somewhat cleaned was her top coat, which lightly smelled like shampoo. It honestly felt like she was either only partially washed or wiped down rather than given a thorough bath. I wasn’t able to see my puppy before paying. Had I been given that opportunity, I would have asked for the service to be corrected and would not have left a tip for incomplete work. This was my puppy’s very first grooming experience, which is already stressful for a young dog. It’s disappointing that it ended up being a waste of time, and I had to go home and re-bathe the areas that should have been properly cleaned in the first place. I initially chose this location for convenience, as well as the fact that I get her puppy shots with Vetco. So I really wanted to give Petco a try. My German shepherd and Husky go to PetSmart & I’ve never had an issue. I should have trusted my gut and just taken her there.
