I take my two dogs to Banfield because it's too expensive to go to most veterinarians now. This has changed in the last several years. However, you can't get anything needing an overnight stay done at Banfield. They don't do overnights. This makes it an issue if your dog has an operation, and then has problems. So decide up front who will be your emergency veterinarian; perhaps take your dogs there at least once so you can be sure of them. Also, you may not get to speak to a vet at Banfield if you have a procedure done. They just take your dog and then you pick them up when it's done. Last time my dog had something done, the veterinarian came out and handed the dog off to me and rushed away. Still, a former Banfield veterinarian recommended them to me; she'd worked for Banfield and is a good veterinarian. And I have had good results so far... and it does cost less; still not cheap, but more affordable.

Survey / Complaint About Office Manager – Banfield Pet Hospital Location: 3010 Brandywine Parkway, Wilmington, DE 19803 Date of Incident: 12/11 I am extremely disappointed with the service I received during my call to Banfield on 12/11. I called specifically to speak with a doctor regarding my pet not feeling well. Instead of being connected to a medical professional, I was given Sarah Anderson, the office manager, who was rude, nasty, disrespectful, and continued to talk over me throughout the call. Sarah is not a doctor, yet she insisted on giving me her personal opinion about my pet’s health—an opinion I did not ask for and one that means nothing when it comes to the well-being of my dog. I pay for a service that should include access to an actual veterinarian or medical staff, not an office manager offering unsolicited and unqualified advice. Sarah clearly needs proper customer service training and should be reminded that her role is administrative, not medical.

I cannot say enough about Banfield. If I could give them a 6/5 I would. Being a corporate Pet Hospital I expected it to be well run and operate like a large facility but every time we took our dog there we felt like we were at a small private Vet Hospital. Everyone was friendly, outgoing, helpful and you could tell they loved what they did for a living. It wasn't just a job for the staff, it was a career helping animals. Dr. Hicks, Dr Graves and the entire staff at the Brandywine location are Amazing. They went above and beyond on more than one occasion and genuinely care about the pets they are seeing. When our dog being having issues, they were quick, responsive and did their best to help guide us through the tough time. I could not have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend Banfield Brandywine to anyone who is not sure where to go.

The one star is for my last visit. I brought my Georgie in last Saturday to address end of life concerns and options to keep him comfortable. Dr Graves completely dismissed my concerns, told me my dog looked great (mind you, he had almost two pound wt loss since last visit in September, labored breathing-Dr Graves asked for the muzzle to be removed because "he didn't like how he was breathing", decreased appetite, increased urination-he was in a diaper at the visit and Dr Graves asked why 🤦🏻‍♀️, fatigue, and new onset vomiting) and prescribed a two week course of lasix and cough meds for his CHF which I reluctantly agreed to. Fast forward 4hrs later, Georgie had collapsed with what appeared to be a seizure, had a similar episode at 4am and by 5am he took his last breath in my arms. I know there was no treatment/med to cure him but my main concern was to make sure he was comfortable and would not suffer otherwise I would have requested euthanasia. A little empathy, understanding, and reassurance would have been appreciated but I received none of that. I left almost feeling guilty for bringing him in as I was looked at like I just wanted to put my dog down. I will never bring another pet here because of this experience. I will give kudos to Dr Hicks for the wonderful care he provided to Georgie when he injured his leg in the spring and also for the initial diagnosis and treatment for CHF. He listened, was compassionate, and recommended reasonable treatments for Georgie.

My Smokey was hearing perfectly well until I was told the he had an ear infection. His ears was packed with Steroids and antibiotics and now he can't hear at all. I wonder what happened. That's why you get a 1 star.
