This seriously makes me question my Banfield pet plan after numerous occasions where my pet has not been seen at this location. They never attempt to fit her in, even in situations that feel urgent when my dog is clearly in pain. It really makes me question the ethics this place operates under.
They consistently push me to go to an emergency vet, which is frustrating considering my dog has pet insurance through them. If I am paying for their plan to help limit the cost of veterinary care, it makes no sense to be sent elsewhere every time there is an issue. Instead of defaulting to emergency vets, they could at least suggest calling other Banfield locations. I ended up going to the Brandywine location, but this whole situation is ridiculous.

I called regarding my pet’s profile, which I’ve had on file for over three years, because I was unable to see it on my account and needed to schedule a teeth cleaning. The only profile visible was for a kitten I had temporarily added while trying to get it vaccinated and rehomed.
The woman at the front desk told me the issue had been updated and that I should now be able to see the correct profile. However, she did not ask for any identifying information to access my account, and I was calling from a new phone number that is not associated with my account.
After checking and still not seeing the profile, I attempted to call back for clarification, but my first call rang with no answer and the other 2 calls went to voicemail. I then tried calling from a different number, which rang but was not answered.
I later contacted another location, where they asked for my information and were able to assist me properly to ensure I had access to my pet’s profile.

Made an appointment, For my sick dog. For a sick appointment, for seizures. The next day, they called me at to verify the appointment through voicemail. Then, within the next five minutes. Called me again, to let me know that the scheduler, had mistakenly put in the appointment and that the next appointment they would be able to get me in, I was Tuesday. I made the appointment on Friday night, they called to verify on Saturday and then canceled; enough said, not a very happy first time Customer experience to say the least.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
