Had to have my 15 year old cat put down today.
They were very nice and compassionate. Emergency Vet’s are more expensive so their prices reflect that.

My Regular vet appointment was set to far to many days away, so I called DAEC, filled out the paperwork on line and walked in the doors at 6:07 am, we were greeted very nicely and when our paperwork was located , we were sent to a room. We met with Heather, who went above and beyond to try and get our dog to take her pain pill, and Dr Weaver was so compassionate and gentle with Lucky, our Pit. Kudos to the 2 of them, Thank You so much.

Brought my dog in for an emergency visit. called ahead, they immediately took him back and started working on him. Staff was attentive, kind and compassionate. They informed us of everything that was going on and what they were doing. They did everything they could to get him stable but unfortunately it wasn’t enough. I can’t Thank them enough for How kind and compassionate they were thru the situation. It all happened so quickly. Highly recommend them.

Emergency is a relative word. The staff and Vet care, no doubt but it's their job, after so long "everything and nothing" is an emergency once you're "in" it daily. Being a half hour closer to Salisbury I felt after the reviews that Delmarva would be a more positive experience. Whether it was or not, $600 plus later I'm appreciative and content. There is no triage, no one evaluating upon arrival, which that alone, 1 to 2 minutes TOPS, and more like mere seconds. That would put people at ease and help you to feel at least like YOU aren't eating potential time. Guess if your dogs leg was hanging off they would for sure, but never witnessed any "sense of urgency".

Short: Go anywhere else if you can
Went in because my ferret (I thought) broke his leg. So I waited near 3hrs to see someone. They come in take 5 mins to look at him come out to find out it was a dislocation he popped back in himself during the wait. For that 5 min exam after a 3hr wait I paid $186 for just the exam. Given they looked at my pet and prescribed meds I wasn’t expecting free but $186 for a quick glance and a 3hr wait is crazy.
Everyone there was complaining about wait times. According to front desk only one vet was working on a weekend. Not just exotic vet, just total and the said that’s normal.
Based on my experience, and the numerous other reviews i’m now reading, I cannot recommend this clinic unless you have no other option. Unfortunately my local clinic did not have an exotic dr in this weekend so I was stuck. Won’t make that mistake again unless my pet is literally dying. Even then I might skip here based on another review they let a pet die during the excessive wait.
