Dr. Schunk was absolutely wonderful. She was patient, attentive, and took the time to thoroughly explain everything in a way that made me feel comfortable and informed. I never felt rushed, and she answered all of my questions thoughtfully and clearly. Her knowledge and expertise were very evident, and I truly felt my bearded dragon Lemon Drop was in capable hands. I highly recommend Dr. Schunk to anyone looking for a compassionate and skilled vet!

Exclaiming disappointment from the rooftops. Although I absolutely adored Dr. Schunk and found her initially to be wonderfully detailed and articulate and obviously caring, missing nothing, this took a complete 180. Three months ago we scheduled a simple tooth extraction (possible 2 teeth plus cleaning, which is standard with this procedure) after a thorough examination. I scheduled time off of work straight away for the morning of the 5th and several days after to provide post-surgery nurturing and care for my dog. I scheduled it far enough out so that my dog could recover from a splenectomy and gallbladder removal surgery at Cornell University Veterinary Hospital wherein, Fin, did exceptionally well under anesthesia and has recovered beautifully. This had all been duly noted by South Wilton Vet. We scheduled his extraction after all requirements had been discussed. On my own volition, I inquired about perhaps having an echocardiogram for my own comfort and knowledge, not at all necessary just as a precaution, but like all vets now everything you disclose will be promptly capitalized on as an opportunity to “upsell” is always immediately taken. That said I received a text message rather than a professional email, stating an echocardiogram is required before a dental procedure, mind you this was never mentioned once until I mentioned it. I text Dr. Schunk back that I understood it was not a requirement and I looked forward to his extraction on the 5h of December after stating he might perhaps need more recovery time but otherwise moving ahead, to which I received zero response. Today, December 4th, not only did I have to call in to confirm his surgery for tomorrow and ask what pre-operation procedures I should follow for the night before are, I was left on hold for 20 minutes and what was disclosed to me through me into fury. I was informed that my dog had no appointment for tomorrow for an extraction, but an echocardiogram. After requesting a reason, I was informed that Dr. Schunk was fearful/uncomfortable proceeding with the extraction without this. What is outrageous and unacceptable about this is that no one communicated this me us and what’s worse is that the urgency and tremendous need for this extraction was agreed upon, stressed and well understood, not to mention the high level of confidence expressed to me during this examination and scheduling of the surgery. At no point did anyone express discomfort or a lack of confidence. Not only would we never have scheduled this extraction to be performed here knowing that they are unsure/lack confidence in simple tooth extractions, but know how deceptive the communication and scheduling is. Had I not called this morning to confirm the appointment and discuss pre-op protocols, I would have arrived at 7:45am tomorrow morning with expectations of a tooth extraction only to be met with a terrible bait and switch surprise. I understand now why I was warned about this veterinary hospital. Extremely dangerous and unprofessional when it was understood how much time and timing was of the essence. I am convinced the ONLY place to bring your pet for serious issues and or simple tooth extractions is Cornell Ithaca (reasonable and exceptional care) and Cornell Stamford ( extremely expensive but outstanding care). No local veterinarians other than perhaps Fairfield and MedVet Norwalk should be even considered.

This experience completely changed my trust in this clinic. My exotic animals have been going to Dr. Williamson for a little over two years. My pets’ medication was shipped by the office and never delivered. Instead of resolving it with FedEx and replacing the order, I was told I would have to pay again to get the medication — nearly $300 — and then return the original shipment “if it ever arrived” to get a refund. They know how crucial it is to the health of my elderly pets, but refuse to take accountability of the package they sent through Fed-ex. This incident tells me exactly how much they value their clients and animals' lives.

You guys are the best ! Every doc makes me feel so validated in my concerns for my pet, even when it’s just based on a hunch & they are always so thorough during our visits , no matter what the reason. Not to mention, everyone is so professional while also managing to appropriately bring up the financial components of a particular visit and they never move forward with any tests of procedures without first informing you of any likely costs involved so an informed decision can be made from all angles . I can’t begin to say how comforting and supportive the whole vibe of the way your practice is run, evident in the attitude , demeanor and clearly communicative way each and every staff member , tech, and vet conducts business and treats their patients . Thanks to all for helping us take such good care of our pets !
