  I went into Petco today to try and get my dogs nails trimmed. He has gone in multiple times for nail trims as a walk in. With prior visits, employees have been helpful in getting my dog inside as he is usually scared and likes to try and pull himself out of his collar and harness. However, today a woman inside the grooming department came outside when she saw us struggling to get our dog inside and put a smaller leash around his neck saying, “he cannot come here again without this leash.” My dog started to back up to try and escape and the woman kept pulling the leash, causing my dog to make choking sounds and whimper, ultimately choking him. She was then very rude, sarcastically asking if my dog was there for training classes. This attitude was extremely unprofessional. I asked for a nail trim and she said they were too busy for him right now and that I would have to wait 15 minutes. I asked how I can avoid this and make this easier next time and she said I cannot make an appointment online and ultimately did not give me any guidance about getting him an appointment. We then asked about a grooming appointment and she stated that she did not think my dog would be able to handle it if he hasn’t gotten groomed before. My dog is the sweetest boy and never has any issues besides being hesitant to go inside the building. This behavior was unacceptable and incredibly unprofessional. Please do not take your business here if you want your dog treated nicely!

  Petco is no the place to go for grooming , they are horrible, very aggressive, and VERY RUDE ! my poor mutipoo 7lbs got sent home because of “biting” meanwhile my dog has never biting anyone in her life. My poor baby was very scared every time we dropped her off , and they would always cut off all her hair without explaining why . I’m very disappointed in the Wallingford Petco and their employees.

  Went to get a fish, and the amount of dead fish rotting in their tanks should be considered abuse, they should not sell or own any animals if they can’t properly care for their fish.. I can’t imagine the larger animals. I’m surprised at the amount of people complaining about the older tall guy and seeing how cold he is was funny, yet he still works there. Do not shop at this place all you’re doing i giving them money to keep buying animals and abuse them
