  Very disappointed in the service we encountered at our last grooming appt. I have been taking our golden doodle to the same groomer at petco for the past two years (since she was 5 mos old). This was the second time they’ve shaved her down to her skin, claiming she was severely matted and it was the best course of action. I do understand this is a real possibility for this breed. The first time she was shaved down I did not receive a phone call prior to let me know, so I was very surprised to pick Up a dog that looked nothing like mine. We believed they did it in the best interest of the dog as they explained, so we returned. This time, they did provide a “warning” phone call which was at least appreciated. Upon pick up, our Groomer and well as another informed me that our dog was “so bad”, “mean”, growling and biting at the groomer while jumping up and down the table. Apparently so bad that the second groomer had to take over and that it was unsafe for our dog and original groomer to continue to work together. You could tell they rushed through the finish as her face looks sloppily groomed, she didn’t have the bandana typically included in the package, and it’s questionable if her nails were even clipped. I asked if this was a first to which they replied “oh yes, bad every time”. 14 visits over the course of 2 years and not once did they inform me that my dog was aggressive and we have no issues with her behavior in that regard at home which leads me to believe there has to be a reason if it holds truth. I reached out to the manager to look into the issue and received a refund. Sadly, we will not be returning to petco.

  Everyone here is great, but Tara is my girl! I have a very nervous, shy, sweet girl who doesn’t like nail trims, baths, or anything unless it’s love and attention. Tara is beyond patient and understanding with how scared my sweet girl is. Hair and nails always come out amazing, soft, clean, trimmed, etc. there’s not enough words to express the gratitude for finding her as a dog groomer. She is awesome.

  I went there to have my cat’s nails trimmed. The woman told me that my cat had only one more chance before I would not be able to have her nails cut there again because she had swatted at her. Hello? Do you know what cats are like? They don’t like their paws touched and no cat likes their nails cut. She should have expected that. Inexperience? Maybe she could have had someone help her. I was offended and will NOT be bringing my cat or my dog there again. I thought $20 was a lot for a nail trim but I got to use coupons to pay the bill. So glad I didn’t tip her though!
