I had a deeply disturbing experience with this Banfield location and feel compelled to warn other pet owners. I was hung up on multiple times while calling in an active crisis. At the time, I was homeless, living in my car with no gas. My cat’s medication had been left at the home of someone I had to get a restraining order against, and I was calling to have the prescription transferred so my cat could continue receiving necessary medication. I left two messages before receiving a call back from a staff member who was rude, talked over me, and refused to listen. When I tried to explain the situation, she repeatedly interrupted me and said, “Well, if you didn’t pick it up….”When I asked her to stop talking and listen, she stated that a police report would be required and then hung up on me. This was the third time I was disconnected while seeking help during a crisis. Hanging up on a client requesting medication assistance is unacceptable. Compounding this, during a prior visit the veterinarian became visibly irritated when I did not administer my cat’s gabapentin correctly the first time. I had not been given clear or adequate instructions, yet I was met with attitude rather than guidance. A medical professional should educate, not shame, especially when prescribing medication for an animal. Hours later, the office manager attempted to call me back, but the damage was already done. Your phones are recorded, and this behavior reflects a serious lack of professionalism, compassion, and accountability. This location also appears to be poorly managed. On a separate visit, I waited over 20 minutes in line simply to drop off a urine sample while the office manager remained on a phone call instead of assisting waiting clients. To further confirm this is a pattern, when I later visited the Southington Banfield location, another client called requesting to transfer their pet out of this Glastonbury office due to unanswered phones and rude staff. This location either needs complete staff restructuring or closure. Veterinary care requires competence, compassion, and reliability, especially in urgent situations. None of that was demonstrated here.

My appointment was for 12 o’clock, they put me in a private room to wait for the vet to just check my cat after surgery. I sat alone in that room with no checkup for an hour, as i proceeded to walk out nobody said anything to me. I will not be returning to this location.
