I visited this location today to purchase a new harness for one of my Malamutes. While my dogs were calm and respectful for most of the visit, the checkout experience was very disappointing. Despite my reassurance that the my dogs harness was secure and attached to a no-pull ring, the cashier was overly critical and dramatic about the fit because it shifted slightly while my dog was standing. Things escalated when another dog entered the store. As I was actively managing my dogs and locking their leashes to bring them to my side, an employee named Alexis intervened without permission. She grabbed my dog’s leash, which actually prevented me from being able to pull my dog closer and maintain control. I have handled my 75 lb dogs for three years and do not appreciate an employee overstepping and physically interfering with my handling process. If I require a trainer's assistance, I will ask for it; otherwise, I expect staff to let me manage my own pets.

The Petco workers there are wonderful, the Vetco workers need to find a new career. Upon visiting Vetco to get my 3 month old Chow Chow vaccinated they started it off by tugging on her tail to force her onto the scale when she stepped off once. After that they tried to pin the puppy down by her Neck and seemed surprised when the dog started screaming and growling then attempted to force a too-small muzzle on her face. They told us to get a muzzle for the dog or get her medication and they will try again. Now a few weeks later we have gotten medication for our puppy, meant specifically for this visit. The dog is so tired from the meds she is struggling to stay awake or even manage to keep her head up straight or her tongue in her mouth. My girlfriend had gone inside to explain the situation and was repeatedly interrupted, they claimed they told us that we would need to visit a “full service vet” rather than them which was something that was NEVER stated before. My girlfriend told them that the puppy received pre-treatment medicine for this and they once again cut her off and refused to even let the puppy inside to attempt the vaccine. I had gone in after and the doctor was waiting for me at the door, as I approached she began to walk away and I told her we couldn’t get a muzzle on the puppy, she yelled out from 15 feet away across the store “I will not give the shots to that THING without a muzzle” then her two nurses walked up to me to discuss while she continued to walk away from me. The nurses said they will not treat her without a muzzle which is fine, but how they decided to approach the situation with multiple interruptions and rude behavior has shown me that these Vetco workers are unprofessional and rude. You are supposed to love animals in your field and you call a three month old puppy a THING that was only ever upset with you because she had four grown adults manhandling her. Absolutely disgusting treatment. The PETCO workers there have been an absolute treat to us however and have actively been able to pet the puppy. The worker Julien and the Groomer with the Mohawk are some of my puppies favorite people.

This is a great Petco for peace and quiet. If you don't want a soul around to bother you with all that invasive customer service this will be your go-to Petco. You won't even find an employee to ring you up and you can enjoy the quiet while you stand there at the register, and stand there, and stand there. No, this isn't a one of experience as I have found it to be the case every time I have attempted to shop at this store. Even years ago when my young son got his arm stuck in the sliding door (he was swinging his arm as we exited and the door caught it and pulled it between the panes of glass) we weren't put out with any help. Nope, they didn't offer any medical help as his arm turned colors. They even said it didn't happen since the manager hadn't seen it. No, no, the cameras surely captured everything but those employees, and especially the manager, were so great about giving us our space they refused to take up any of our time by looking at the footage. Wow, I sure was glad that absolutely nothing was done to help us so we could just get the out and pretend nothing happened while icing his injury. Go on in and take your time, they certainly will. Don't bother going to Walmart, Target, Petsmart, or online to get what you need from a better variety of goods at a far lesser price. Sure the customer has options but here at THIS Petco location you get the peace of mind in knowing you don't matter, your time and money are worthless to them, and they really do have better things to do than help in person. You can shop all on your own. No "thank you" to be head anywhere but the "Get the heck out!" attitude lingers heavily in the air with every purchase they are put out to ring up.
