A word of caution: be mindful when considering Banfield clinics inside Petco and similar locations. They are owned by the Mars chocolate/candy company. In my experience, their pricing lacked transparency. And their "assistant" got our dogs names mixed up. After we spent $2,000.00 on teeth extraction for one of our dogs, we were told additional teeth needed to be removed during a follow-up visit. But we were confused as to which dog needed more teeth pulled. The vet did apologize for that mix up, but had we known this we would have approved the other appropriate dog's teeth extraction. At that point, they quoted another $3,000—and then suggested it might only be an additional $2,000—leaving us with more questions than answers about the actual cost. Imagine if you buy a car, clothes, furniture, dinner, etc and no prices?? I guess you just find out at the end, huh? Is thsi what America has come to? Maing up prices? I mean what vet doesn’t have itemized pricing? Banfield. Money & profits over fair written pricing. Extracting one, two, or three root teeth should come with clearly defined costs—not numbers pulled out of thin air. We’ve trusted Dr. Feldman at Vet Care on Holly & Leetsdale with our pets for the past seven years and have consistently received excellent care. His pricing is transparent and straightforward—no surprises, no pressure, and no sense of being taken advantage of. Dr. Feldman has a written price list, as do most local vets. Banfield did not. Out of emergency, we were referred to Banfield. Bad mistake. You live, you learn. I strongly prefer supporting local veterinarians over large, out-of-state corporate chains. You should too. Stop doing business with large corporations and start doing business with your local Veterinarians.

Excellent care provided by friendly, knowledgeable professionals. Wouldn't trust my dog anywhere else. Adopted my dog there 14 years ago and annual checkups and other needed care for my 15 year old dog

I have been a Banfield member for many years (since 2018). When we first started using Banfield, we loved this hospital (Glendale). The doctors were amazing. They helped us diagnose and treat one of our dog's mast cell cancer diagnosis and we truly felt valued. Since those first couple of years, this pet hospital has been nothing short of a disaster. First huge problem: the same dog that had the cancer they treated, was diagnosed with epilepsy via a neurologist. The neurologist wanted us to manage the condition through our primary care vetrinarian. Sounds good in theory, but it was an acutal nightmare. Not only did the veterinarians have to google his condition/symptoms regularly, I had to fight them constantly to make sure his prescriptions were sent in timely and had many occasions of nearly running out of his medication (which can be extremely harmful if withdrawn cold turkey). In addition, even after being informed by the neurologist to stop, we had to constantly remind them over and over again not to treat him with heart worm injections because it was contraindicated. Second huge problem: recently, our cat has been losing weight and acting very abnormally. I brought her in for an appointment to get bloodwork and try to come up with a game plan. During our visit, I was there with my cat and two children, which can obviously be chaotic. I wanted nothing more than to figure out what was going on and leave. Well, apparently the vetrinanrian felt the same as she was complaining about us audibly telling the other staff members to "rescue her" from the room. My heart sank. All I wanted was to get some support for my cat and I was humilated. The practice manager basically brushed it off. There is an endless list of issues that I've dealt with, but these two have made me question my Banfield membership. We are trying another hospital before we throw in the towel, but be warned. This location is awful.

I've taken my cat to Banfield for many years and, in that time, there have been many issues. Only recently have I been able to get her medications filled without repeated visits (she has a permanent disability). Today, when contacting this location, the woman who answered the phone insisted my cat must come back in for an appointment before getting medications refilled repeatedly despite the fact that she had been seen before and had been given the medication before. After a contentious conversation, she relented to contacting the doctor for approval of my prescription. She then refused to hear which pharmacy I would like to have it picked up at. She said she would get the approval and contact me again for details. She called a different number listed on my account than the one I had called from. After not receiving an answer, she took it upon herself to have the prescription filled at their location. I called back in an attempt to get the medication sent to a closer pharmacy and was met with a rude and indignant tone from the employee that left me confused and befuddled. I would recommend using any other veterinary service or, at least, any other Banfield location. (Glendale, CO)
