  My family has been going here for over 15 years and I truly cannot explain the disgust I have for this business. Before they were bought out by a massive company, South Mesa was wonderful, I could rave on and on. You had vets take time with you, care for you and your pet more than a number, and give you options for all decisions. There is none of this now. My family had a cat who was very old and although we knew she was passing soon, South Mesa could not even find 5 minutes in their day for a Doctor call for our struggling cat while our family was in tears. It’s a rotating door here, you will never see the same vet for more than a couple of years. I have no respect for this company or business. The lack of emotion and care towards our dying pet was utterly disgusting. Keep in mind we had to try and call multiple times over a period of DAYS just to be in contact with anyone; we were not expecting an immediate response. We kept our one cat here because she was a nervous animal with new places but we switched our other animals to new vets in the meantime. When going to vets other than South Mesa with our other pets, I was astounded that I forgot what it was like for someone to simply explain what something meant or take time with our family. And it’s not just my family, friends of ours and other members have had heart wrenching experiences like ours. I would never in a million years recommend South Mesa. The reason they are more affordable now and easy to get into is not for the right reasons. Keep looking because there are plenty of other wonderful vets in Fort Collins that will take time out of their day and heart for your best friend.

  I love South Mesa! Had no problem getting my pup in asap. Had a short notice need to update shots for boarding. I was able to schedule an appointment the night before online! Everyone I met was so nice and they gave my pup lots of love. No over selling or pushing of things that he didn’t need. The Dr actually took time to listen to me and treat my pup with the best care with what he actually needed. Highly recommend ❤️

  Recently I took my 2 dogs to South Mesa veterinary hospital. It was the best experience I have ever had at a veterinary hospital! I saw both Dr Dunn and Dr Schellenberger. They each treated one of my pups. Both Doctors were awesome. They were caring and honest about treatment. They spent a great deal of time explaining what kind of care each dog needed. The entire staff that helped me were amazing. I am so glad I have found such a wonderful veterinary hospital. I highly recommend South Mesa veterinary hospital!!   Took my cat in for a regular checkup and vaccines, they were very knowledgeable, actually took the time to ask me questions and answer questions of my own, and I was still in and out in 30 minutes. My cat also had zero reaction to the shots and was happy the whole time so I think that means they’re about as good as you can get. Reasonably priced too, $113 for exam and 3 vaccines, two of which are good for 3 years
