2/24 update: i went ahead and emailed ‘banfield cares’ which only resulted in further insult. received a phone call consisting of - we’re sorry you felt offended by our harmless comment (your dogs a lemon) then they decided to add a new special one - how much i must’ve loved Ben considering i ‘only had him for 30 days’ they asked if id like them to look into cancelling my wellness plan. not sure if that was a rhetorical question but the absurdity of this conversation has me dropping this down to a 1 star. i would expect a certain level of professionalism but once again, left shocked and disappointed. let them know id appreciate any follow up concerning this to be done over email and was told that would be incredibly difficult for them, as they “don’t really do email” what a nightmare this place is original review: i hope vets learn to prescribe systemic oral antibiotics in mill rescue cases where “better safe than sorry” might apply. especially when prescribing medicine (prednisone) that may lower immune system response. specifically when the owner is begging for them and sensing something wrong with their pet. i could care less about antibiotic resistance. instead, my dog is no longer with us. i know they told me he was a lemon but i still think with proper meds, he would’ve had a fighting chance. they may call it veterinary “practice” but i always saw it as consulting a professional. not anymore. ben was put on prednisone while having kennel cough. this turned into pneumonia. he never coughed or had a fever because he was on this steroid and he died of sepsis. we knew he had an ear infection with potential middle ear involvement. antibiotics could’ve saved his life. his last steroid dose 2/13 with normal temperature (no fever) - he died on 2/16 with a 106 temperature - Prednisone is an immunosuppressant. It can hide classic infection signs like fever (by blunting the inflammatory response), make infections worse or harder to fight, and increase sepsis risk—especially if there's an underlying infection (high white blood cell count) Vets (should) know this; guidelines warn about using steroids cautiously in pets with possible/undiagnosed infections because they can unmask latent ones or let them rage unchecked.

Truly care and love our fur babies , all questions I had regarding my new puppy were answered and explained ❤️ ! They gave my sweet boy a nice sanitary hair cut for his bum which I was so grateful for , shots were so easy he didn’t feel a thing . Thank you guys for caring for Bear 🐻!

Good staff, less waiting and fuss at the front desk as Banfield in a Petsmart. Dr.'s were very attentive.

The Vetanarians at Banfield pet hospital are very thorough and caring. When I have left one of my dogs there for observation I always get a call from the vet within an hour letting me know what they think is going on and what tests or medication they want to try. I have been very pleased with the pricing and with the follow up phone calls. Joanne Black
