- ADAlex D6 days ago1.0Petco Will Take Your Money -- But They Certainly Don't Support Animals or the Community What I witnessed at the Petco at 3511 N Salida Ct near Tower was beyond unacceptable. A volunteer who had driven six hours to safely deliver a foster dog was harassed, stalked, and treated like a criminal in Petco's parking lot -- not by police, not by staff, but by an aggressive Front Range Patrol guard Petco thinks represents their brand. Instead of showing even minimal respect for rescue work or basic human decency, Petco allowed this guard to escalate, monitor, and threaten someone who was literally helping save an animal. When I arrived to pick up the foster, he immediately went hostile, raised his voice at me, and acted like a routine dog exchange was some kind of crime. The message from Petco was loud and clear: You can give them your money -- but don't expect them to support animals, rescues, or the community in any meaningful way. For a company that markets itself as a champion of animal welfare, their actions say the opposite. Allowing aggressive, unnecessary confrontation toward rescue volunteers shows a complete lack of compassion, oversight, and responsibility. Petco should be embarrassed. The behavior they have authorized make it painfully obvious they care about only 1 thing, your money.
