About 7 years ago, I purchased a female dwarf hamster from this Petco located at 1050 W Covina Pkwy, West Covina, CA 91790. A lovely female store employee assisted me in this purchase. I named my hamster “Focus”, because in the year 2018, God told me to focus. After a few months or about a year later, I got bored of having just one hamster, so I purchased a second dwarf hamster and put them in the same cage. The reason that I did not purchase two hamsters to begin with is because the Petco employee told me that it was not recommended to have two hamsters in the same cage. But I went ahead and still did it because the apartment manager were I live (Eva Apartments 14024 Ramona Blvd, Baldwin Park, CA 91706) only allows me to have hamsters as pets, so I don’t have a dog, or a cat, or even reptiles, that’s why I went ahead and purchased a second hamster because I really felt that that it wasn’t enough with only one hamster! And I thought it was an exaggeration of the Petco store employee to not recommend putting two hamsters in one cage- because I thought it was odd, because I asked myself how would they mate if they don’t like being together? But the Petco employee was right, my second hamster died several months after I purchased it, the death was likely due to over stressed. That means that the two hamsters probably never rested while being in the same cage, until one passed away. My hamster Focus also eventually passed away, my family and I buried it and carved her name on metal, and we see her name everyday because we put it were it was buried, outside by our front entrance door. I also found out that the Petco female employee who assisted me with several transactions, including with my hamster Focus, she ended up resigning from her job. I found out because one time I went to your Petco and she wasn’t there, so I asked her co worker what happened to her, and she gave me the sad news that she resigned from her job because it was too stressful. And I got sad because she did a wonderful job with me, she had a genuine positive attitude with me and helped me firm.

Took my two pups for nail trim. It was their first time. Madelin did an amazing job being patient with my two pups. Madelin made the process of first time visit and nail experience smooth for my pups. Madelin also assisted with tips. A friendly and very helpful staff. I am grateful to have someone that my pups can feel comfortable, and safe with when I take them for grooming.

Brought my 75yr old disabled mom to have her poodle get a vaccine at this location. I told my mom how great the grooming service is and so she wanted to make sure her fur baby has her shots in order before trying it out herself. My mom thought it would be easy and cheaper getting her fur baby vaccinated at petco too. The process is a little inconvenient because you check in at the counter in the back, then walk all the way to the front to pay, then walk all the way back again. Not convenient if you have trouble walking and have a walker like my senior citizen mom. Everything else was ok until the end. When taking my mom's fur baby off the table to go and the assistant gave us the shot record, the man who administered the shot, the vet or whatever he was, bluntly asked us out loud, "when was the last time she had a bath?". I said what? He repeated the question to which I saw my 75yr old mom's face in shock, responded last week. I asked him why do you ask? He said her hair was really matted. My mom then said we'll she's outside all the time in the yard and dirt. We left. He said it without decorum or discretion. My mom was upset and crying in the back seat on the way home. That poor excuse of a person made her feel so bad. She loves that dog and does the best she can. What he didn't know is that my mom normally takes the fur baby to another groomer but stopped when the little fur baby started to act differently. She was changing over to petco groomers and wanted to make sure all shots were in order and she already had some of the shots so she paid to get some other shots not required but recommended. She is on social security and spending her money on her little one. So to have this "person " make a question and in the manner he did was horrible. The guy has no customer service skills and frankly didn't seem excited to see the pets. Sorry little fur baby was not clean to your standards. Sorry that she is a poodle and their hair gets matted easily. Sorry that she was dirty and waiting for her grooming appointment in 3 days. That is like asking someone when's the last time your kid took a bath. How about when was the last time you took a bath? Learn how to speak to people. That dog eats fresh cooked food. Don't judge a book by it's cover. Learn to be kinder when asking questions or have a smile. After that treatment I will NEVER bring my mom here again for the fur baby's vaccinations nor will I ever recommend coming here for pet vaccinations. I guess unless you have a perfectly clean and groomed pet. I will stick to my veterinary office where they smile and treat our pets like family and treat my 75yr old disabled mother decently and do not make her feel bad. For the record I returned to the store to tell him exactly what he did. He gave me the obligatory "I'm sorry" with the sincerity of a wall. I smiled and left. So sad.
