  I recently adopted a kitten from my local shelter and saw that Vetco was promoting free first visits for new customers so I scheduled an appointment at the Walnut Creek clinic as it was the closest location to me. I booked for a Saturday because I work full time during the week and the soonest appointment was a few weeks out from the time that I booked. I arrived to the appointment today as scheduled and was running a few minutes late due to traffic and tried calling and texting the clinic to give a courtesy call and nobody would answer after multiple attempts. Once I arrived the door was locked and the lights were off so I walked into Petco and asked an employee what was going on. They informed me that the clinic had closed due to a water leak that occurred TWO WEEKS AGO with no estimated renovation date. Nobody from the clinic bothered to call me to cancel my appointment in advance along with many other customers according to the employee I spoke with. I was particularly frustrated because this was a major inconvenience as I was coming from San Leandro. Calling to cancel was the very least they could’ve done and should’ve been the clinics top priority. I was extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and transparency. If they are unable to do something as simple as cancel an appointment, I am doubtful they are capable of providing my pet with quality care. If you do decide to book at this clinic please note they lack basic communication skills.

  Needed vaccinations for my dog. Was given the 1 year rabies shot and not the 3 year without being given the option. I've always been given the 3 year at previous vets. This was my first year at Vetco. The receipt even said 3 year but the rabies certificate said it was valid for 1 year. This feels like a way to make sure I go back to them every year. I would've appreciated this being discussed with me and being give the option of the 3 year vaccine. At the very least having a conversation about which vaccine they wanted to give my dog would've been warranted. Other than this, the service was good and the people were pleasant.

  Everyone was amazing taking care of Stormy. Her nail trim was smooth, I was listened and so excited this when this location opened

  We had a great experience here! The staff was kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. They took the time to answer all my questions and made the whole visit feel stress-free. I will definitely be back and highly recommend them to anyone looking for genuine quality care.
