These guys cancelled/resheduled my appointment, claiming they had some issues with their scheduling tool. I have also made multiple calls to schedule a vet appointment. I left voicemails twice, and yet no call back. Vetco customer service doesn't appear to be great...

First time visit for my 11yr old dogs twin sister after her recent escape and resulting mysterious swollen neck lump (rec: hot compress for 2 weeks 2xday with followup visit if no improvement. Ps she had a large mouth tumor removed last month elsewhere so maybe related?). The vet tech and Dr. Kim were very attentive, detailed and kind and answered my 1thousand questions. ...aaand they didnt try to oversell or push anything extra we didnt need. I asked for all the vaccines for a stay at home pup (IF she stays at home ha) and they recommended the ones we should do for her lifestyle (I learned that the kennel cough vaccine I've been giving her brother dog isnt super necessary if he's an at home dog and not in confined spaces with other dogs) I did have to advocate though for doing more than they recommended (heart worm test/shot), which Im fine with as an experienced dog mom. Highly recommend especially with the coupon for first exam free.

The groomers at the Walnut Creek Petco do a great job of making my dog, Toby, look very handsome! Even though he is always shaking when we walk in he leaves with a "smile" on his face.

We arrived at the store around 12:20 to see the guinea pigs and potentially adopt one as an addition. We had to ask for a higher-level employee just to be able to view them. The woman who assisted us mentioned that she owns three guinea pigs, but she was extremely condescending, dismissive, and unhelpful throughout the interaction. She spoke to us in a way that assumed we had no prior knowledge. She insisted that we had to watch a specific YouTube channel called “The Pig Room” before adopting, even after we explained that we were already familiar with guinea pig care. She then questioned me in a way that felt more like a test than a conversation, rather than offering support or guidance. She also refused to let us hold the guinea pig, stating that we would “drop him,” despite the fact that I have previously been allowed to hold guinea pigs at this Petco and at other Petco locations without issue. This felt unfair and based on assumptions rather than our actual experience. Throughout the interaction, her tone made it seem as though adopting was a favor being done for us, rather than a mutual process focused on the animal’s well-being. She criticized the cage setup we planned to use in a judgmental manner, even though the guinea pigs in the store were being kept in a cage that appeared to be roughly one-third of the recommended size. One guinea pig also seemed to struggle to access its water bottle, to the point where it could potentially injure itself. Overall, her attitude and approach ruined what should have been a positive and educational experience. The interaction felt unprofessional, discouraging, and hypocritical.
