  Thank you for sending me this review request. We love our local PetCo, it's the only one we have in the high desert of SoCal. We have done all our business with Petco for over 20 years, including grooming, (on 8 week schedules), for 5/8 pets over those years. We are devastated to hear that our store will be closing. The new manager really improved things, the store is brighter, everyone seemed happier, the selection of merchandise grew, and she brought back cat adoptions, where we recently adopted our 3rd cat Sriracha! We also adopted our little anxiety case Chewbacca the Dog from Petco, and Ms. Laura and the whole staff in grooming have done such an amazing job making him feel safe for his spa days. Rockstar and Papi send their love, too. I know that nothing I could say would keep the store open, but just know that behind that store is an entire community of citizens that made our PetCo part of our everyday lives, and we enjoyed talking with all of the staff who called us by our first names... and we might have to go to PetCo now, against our will! We hope you have taken care of the staff. They deserve the best you can offer them.

  Very informative. Unfortunately they didn’t have the gold fish for sale that we wanted but they were kind.

  There were three employees at the register as I was going to check out. One of which started out by saying the item I was trying to purchase was not the same as the item through the Petco app (I was trying to price match the item). We did it together to where we looked up the product on the app itself, and it matched completely, the only thing different was the SKU number. It was confirmed that it in fact was the same product though. One of the other employees who was standing behind the register, she was extremely rude and inconsiderate. The price match difference from the original price was just about two dollars. They insisted on me paying the total price and would not give me the price match even though the product was exactly the one on the Petco app. They acted as if the two dollars that I would have saved was coming directly out of their paychecks. I don’t appreciate when I walked up kindly to checkout my items, for the 3 of them to be laughing together loudly in front of other customers. As soon as I was walking out of the store, they all wanted to speak very loudly about, “over a SKU??” I was clearly upset due to the mistreatment that I received as being a customer for a very long time from this corporation. I cannot express enough that these 3 employees were extremely disrespectful beyond belief. Just to get home, open the product, which was a live plant for an aquatic tank, and the bulbs of the plants consisted of mold. I have been going to this specific location for about two years now, and have even purchased some of my pets at this location. I have bought an abundance of amount of items from this location. To now come across employees as such. They are supposed to represent this company at a high standard. I am extremely disappointed. I really do hope they are not offered another position at any other pet store location. If that is how they treat customers, I can only imagine how they would treat pets residing at the store.
