They are dishonest about their prices. First visit cost me $3500 which was more than the high estimate I signed off on. Had to take my dog back there and again I was quoted $1400 on the high side and that turned onto $3100, than they called wanting another $3000 on top of the $3100. I said no and I will be picking my dog up and taking him somewhere else. The vet told us over the phone the $3100 was what it was going to cost. I go to pick up my dog and its $4k. Uh... how? She then states she could have technically charged another day since im picking up at 9:30 even though they didnt call us till 8:30. How kind to not charge me for another day lol. Than tells me shes still giving us the first responders discount and most places dont so.. I ended up having to pay $3500 after their "discount". After spending 7k at this place my dog still needed care. I took my dog straight to Monte Vista and they charged me $1200 which was far less then this place and they offered the discount without attitude as well. When they called wanting another 3k on top of the 7k I spent i said enough if enough. Clearly we know whats more important to them it wasnt helping my dog.

On a positive note they did get our cat in quickly. Originally, the bill was $1700 for X-rays and an ultrasound. However, when we requested to leave our cat for overnight observation, they returned with an estimate of $8000!! So basically $6000 for less than one night (it was already past midnight) and our kitty only needed oxygen until we were able to do further diagnostics. $6000 just for an overnight stay!!! Total highway robbery and fraudulent!! Then they tried to push us towards euthanasia or an expedited trip to emergency surgery in Sacramento to the tune of $10k minimum. It felt like a total pressure crunch to make a very expensive decision. Ultimately, we opted to have our kitty sedated with something to make him comfortable and brought him back home with us. He is resting peacefully at the moment. We will bring him to his regular vet first thing in the morning. This just confirms my belief that emergency vet visits are insanely overpriced with catastrophic diagnoses and/or consequences. So glad we didn’t get sucked into the pressure crunch they tried to put us under financially and to euthanize our baby!! Even the vet couldn’t justify $6k for observation.

I called to ask that the team pass along a message to the owner of a dog that had been hit by a car and brought to your facility, letting them know that several community members are willing to help with veterinary costs if affordability is a concern. Unfortunately, the receptionist responded defensively and with an unprofessional attitude, rather than listening to the purpose of my call. She first said that she is “working with the owners.” After I told her about wanting the msg passed on to the owner she replied “Did I say it was a money issue?” My request was simply that the owners be informed that assistance is available should they need it. Based on this interaction, I will not be bringing my animals to this facility due to the lack of professionalism and the apparent unwillingness to help an animal in urgent need, even though the individual who brought the dog in had offered to contribute toward the cost of care. I want to be clear that I know this does not reflect the standard of care at all veterinary practices. I have personally rescued and assisted many injured animals in the past and have covered medical expenses myself before owners were located.
