My Sully goes to the pet lodge once a week. He started going when he was 4 months old; at first he was very nervous, now he is always ready for a fun day with the other dogs! Cassidy, Garnett, and the whole crew are wonderful to work with; I'm grateful to have a place to take Sully, when he needs to get his wiggles out!!

I literally cannot explain how much my dog and I love the team at Truckee Tahoe Pet Lodge. I honestly don't know what I would do without them! My husky (who has a LOT of attitude) has been going to daycare 3-5 days a week for almost 6 years now and every day we go in is a joy. Garnett, Cassidy and their whole team have always been so good to us and I trust them completely with my baby girl. I would only trust about 4 other people in the world with her, so that's really saying something. They treat her like a queen with tons of love and while she looks forward to seeing her doggy friends every day, I personally look forward to the kindness and friendship of the TTPL team, too! The whole team works their tails off (no pun intended) and does their best to balance what is often a crowded lobby and (almost ALWAYS) phones ringing off the hook. I refer them to everyone I know who might need doggy daycare, overnight boarding or grooming. Even when $ is tight, I always prioritize bringing my girl here because she loves it so much and I love supporting such a wonderful local business and team. Thank you, TTPL team! We love you!

10/10 recommend TTPL! The facility is beautifully maintained and well cared for by the incredible staff. Everyone who works there treats my dog like family. They are very knowledgeable and loving- my dog is excited to get dropped off there to play with his friends! I so appreciate the peace of mind this facility offers me when I’m traveling- I always know my baby is in good hands! The front desk staff and mangers are super helpful in booking, confirming vaccination records, and sending lodging updates while my dog is there. I wouldn’t leave my pet anywhere else!

Cassidy, Garnett, and the entire TTPL team are absolute magic. I walked in on day one with a nervous, diabetic dog (and a very anxious dog mom) who had never set foot in a facility before. Separation anxiety? Check — hers and mine. But from the very first day, they greeted her with open arms, endless patience, and enough treats to win her heart instantly.
Now she practically drags me through the door because she loves it so much. I go to work knowing she’s not just safe, but genuinely happy, engaged, and loved — which is priceless. This team doesn’t just “watch” dogs, they care for them like family and go above and beyond every single day.
If I could give more than five stars, I would. Highly, highly recommend! 🐾✨

I brought my dogs to Truckee Tahoe Pet Lodge for many years and truly trusted that they were in good hands. That trust was completely broken by a recent interaction that left me questioning not only the professionalism of the business, but also the standards being upheld behind closed doors.
I called this week simply to ask about availability. After giving my name, I was placed on hold and then told there was suddenly no availability. I was transferred to Cassidy, who immediately questioned why I would even reach out and accused me of yelling at her during an interaction last spring. I was stunned. I do not yell at people, and I did not leave that past situation with any sense of conflict.
That prior interaction was a simple billing issue: I had called to cancel a reservation and left a voicemail, but it was apparently not reviewed and I was charged anyway. After I provided phone records confirming my call, the charge was refunded. I believed the issue had been resolved professionally and even brought my dogs back the following day - never imagining this would later be weaponized against me.
During this recent call, I apologized instinctively, trying to understand what was happening. Instead, I was told we should “go separate ways” and that I would no longer be allowed to bring my dogs there. When I said I had never yelled, Cassidy denied saying that, then claimed there had been “other incidents,” which I do not recall at all. When I asked for clarification, she HUNG UP on me.
Still in shock, I called back seeking clarity. When my calls were no longer being answered, I used a blocked number to reach someone and was criticized for it. When I again calmly asked what behavior had supposedly been inappropriate, Cassidy hung up on me a SECOND TIME. I also left a voicemail for the owner and never received a response.
What is most troubling is that a mistake caused by the business failing to review a cancellation voicemail was later reframed as a personal or behavioral issue on my part. Being accused, denied any explanation, and repeatedly hung up on as a longtime client was deeply unsettling. The anger and hostility displayed destroyed the trust I once had; this is not a place i would trust to watch my dogs. Looking back, the last time I brought my anxious dog there, she resisted going inside entirely. I wish I had trusted her instincts sooner.
Reply to response:
Being accused of mistreating staff is shocking and deeply upsetting. I have always gone out of my way to be respectful and courteous in my interactions, and that has been consistent over the many years I brought my dogs to your facility. A close friend who has accompanied me there for years is equally shocked by these accusations and can confirm this firsthand. When I was confronted with these claims for the first time and asked Cassidy to explain or identify any specific incident, she was unable to do so and instead ended the call. The tone and accusations in your response further underscore the hostility I experienced during that conversation, which is why this situation was so unsettling. I have never criticized the care my dogs received; however, my dog’s reaction during her last visit stood out and, in light of this experience, gives me pause. Regardless, the allegation does not reflect my conduct and is unfounded.

Do you have vaccination requirements?
Yes, for the health and safety of your pet(s) as well as our other guests and staff we verify all our visitors are current on the following vaccinations. (If you’re visiting the Tahoe area, please be sure we have verification of your pet’s vaccinations prior to your arrival.)
For dogs:
Rabies
Distemper and Parvovirus: distemper, hepatitis, parvo, and parainfluenza per your veterinarian’s protocol. (May be listed as DHPP or DHLPP on your pet’s medical record when administered as a combination vaccine.)
Bordetella: (6 month or 1 year vaccine accepted) Bordetella prevents against some strains of Canine Cough and Truckee-Tahoe Pet Lodge does everything possible to reduce the risk of your pet getting Canine Cough. However, the vaccine does not prevent against all strains, and just like the human flu, there is always a risk when in an environment with many dogs.
Canine Influenza: Until recently, the Canine Influenza Virus (CIV) was not present in our geographical area of the country though it was prevalent in many other areas. The virus is now showing up in Northern California and Nevada, so we do now strongly recommend that our guests be vaccinated for CIV. More information on CIV can be found here. If you have concerns about CIV, we recommend you discuss them with your vet.
For cats:
Rabies
FVRCP
