  My 8 year old cat began breathing irregularly and stopped eating late one night, thinking he’s going to cough up a hairball or something soon I just took note of it, next morning he was still breathing heavily. I made an appointment with paws and claws and they had an availability the following day. I paid the $45 exam fee to lock in my appointment and long story short, they rushed him in the back for oxygen immediately as the stress of transportation caused a rapid decline. I put my card on file for the $1300 round of testing/xrays and immediate care and was called ~30 minutes later with the bad news. What stood out to me was Dr.Millers honesty, last time I went through similar at an emergency vet in Modesto I felt I was blamed for not being able to spend much more than the $3k I had already spent at a Modesto emergency vet clinic. This time here, she was upfront that it would be expensive, there’s a high fatality rate if we treated what it may be and he would not likely live long enough for all the results to come in given his condition at the time. Being that honest removed the guilt and doubt and made the tough decision to euthanize just slightly easier and because they didn’t go through all the tests, euthanasia and his urn came out $200 less than what was on hold on my card. In the process of helping my cat over the rainbow bridge Dr.Miller and the techs were very accommodating and understanding the difficulty me and my partner were going through by allowing us to bring the now deceased’s brother and take our time to grieve with our cat for his final moments and thereafter. I’ll be returning for check ups on my remaining cats and when it comes there time to go.

  This place is garbage and cares more about their money then animals. My wife decided to take out kitten here for his second round of shots, first round was done at The Pet Advocate. That's all she was going in for and they tried to add on additional services that we did not ask for and my wife refused. At the end of the service they provided a bill, again, with services we did not ask for. My wife asked them to take it off and they agreed to, thankfully. Come to this last week, not sure why my wife decided to go back here. She took our kitten in for two doses of shots, and of course in the end there is fees added on that they are not transparent about. Why not be upfront and notify your clients of fees instead of it being a surprise at the end? They decided to charge a Technician fee and disposal fee. Not going here again, The Pet Advocate will have my business going forward.

  I just took my dog Marsh here for a quick little checkup due to some sudden behavioral changes. She's my veteran service pup. So when she is in distress, I get in distress. The veterinarian was able to identify the underlining cause as to why Marsh was isolating herself - acting restless and abnormally different than usual. It turns out after visiting a non anesthesia dentist. She developed a small infection, which led to pain. It's impressive the veterinarian figured this stuff out. Marsh was very comfortable here. Thank you Paws and Claws so much for you knowledge, understanding and empathy for Marsh.

  Tina, Dr. E (and also the other Dr. E!), and Hannah were so kind, the team here is always so helpful and understanding! I truly love you guys for helping prolong the lives of my biological fur children. One day soon, I hope you will be back to 24-hours and have emergency services once more. Thank you, team!
