There was no consultation or recommendations made by the groomer at drop-off, and at pickup the stylist appeared annoyed and disengaged. When I asked how she did, he responded with “she’s lazy.” The following morning, I discovered a raw abrasion on my dog’s skin. This was not disclosed to me at pickup. I understand minor nicks can happen, but the lack of communication, dismissive behavior, and discovering an injury afterward is completely unacceptable. I will not be returning and will be filing a complaint.

- KWK WatJan 4, 20261.0This Petco grooming is such a disappointment. I brought my dog in for a bath today and they turned me away because they said my dog was too matted. I’ve taken my dog to the Westwood and also Redondo locations without issue, but almost every time I take him to this location there seems to be an issue. Once they turned me away because I was bringing him back too soon since the last bath (3 weeks). Another time they turned me away because they were not comfortable with grooming/clipping his face. But today was my last straw. The guy says to me my dog is too matted and they wouldn’t recommend washing him because they matts will smell and my dog will just end up stinking. I literally brushed my dog in anticipation of the bath the night before but let him run out in the rain/mud today because I knew he was getting a bath. I told him I was fine with the “smell” because I’m taking him for a full groom next month and the guy tells me I should just wait for the groom then. I asked him are you recommending to not bathe him or are you refusing to take him and they told me they could not take him. When I walked in I didn’t see any other dogs. I honestly think they were caking the day since it was raining and just didn’t want a tough bath with a lot of brushing since I’ve got a large poodle. Such a disappointment!
