  *Original post* Do yourself and your pets a favor and go to the other Petco, off Westwood blvd. This store looks and feels like it's run by kids who don't care. If you're buying cat food, it's all over the place. There's no organization. If you're trying to find food for a cat with digestive problems, good luck, because you'll be mixing and matching whatever you happen to be able to find. Every brand they carry makes something specific for cats with digestive problems, but this store can't be bothered to organize it in any way that you can actually find it. Also, be sure to ask for a bag at the cashier. They won't offer, and after they ring you up and hand you the receipt, you'll look at everything that you have just paid a hell of a lot of money for and think it's obvious one person can't just carry this all. So you'll ask, and they'll tell you they charge for the bag. Well, yeah, most places do. That's why THE CASHIER ASKS before they finish ringing you up. Do you actually think i'm going to balance these two heavy boxes of litter and ten loose cans of cat food?! That's not something i'm able to do, clearly something I need to work on. Petco is not cheap, but I love my cats so i'm going to pay the money. The very least they could do is the bare minimum of making it not an absolutely painful and aggravating process. *Edit* I appreciate a business that accepts feedback in the way Petco has responded to my post. I'm boosting my review to 3 stars for that alone, and hopefully in the future I'll boost my rating further. Thank you for the response!

  BLOOD EVERYWHERE. Usually come here to get my dog's nails trimmed with no issues. Groomer named Elahe cut my dog's nail WAY too short and DID NOT apply quikstop. My dog was bleeding all over the floor until we noticed and stopped the bleeding with cornstarch. She's had her nails cut too short before, but this time it is absolutely unacceptable. Forget accidentally nicking the quick, she cut the thing in half. UPDATE: The bleeding is too much for the corn starch to work. We've had to bandage her foot to stop the bleeding. The more I think about it, the more ridiculous I think it is that Elahe did not even TELL US about the injury, let alone try to fix it.

  The speed for the check out is super slow. I waited over 10 minutes to check out and the cashier Arturo was very rude. I asked him for a bag and ignored me till I asked him again. He handed me the receipt without saying thank you or anything and just stayed quiet. Not only did was the checkout line slow, he couldn’t even apologize for the wait and still had the audacity to be rude when I checked out.

  Great experience! Got a Syrian hamster from this location and employees (shoutout Rikki) were super knowledgeable and clearly have a lot of care for their animals. Bilbo the hamster is very happy in his new home!

  Nice sized store with A LOT of options for your pet. I needed shampoo for the spoiled, every morning "has to have" a banana dog. Normally I think I would be able to use any brand - but Mommy here is allergic to lanolin, so I have to stop, study, read, (sometimes take a pic of the list of ingredients so I can make the words big enough to read) and look to see if it has lanolin in it, because Mommy does not want to accidentally use something with lanolin in it and have Mommy end up in the emergency room. I wanted to try a "waterless" shampoo, for when we are out car camping and he needs a bath, but enough water for one of those is scarce. They had many options to choose from. He HATES to have me trim his nails, any body else can do it as long as he can't see me when the are doing it, but he is going to have to get used to having me do it, so I picked up some clippers, a rubber shampoo brush, a spray for his hot spots, and some more ear wash. A number of items I didn't plan to get, but would need to at some point. Very convenient for me.
