  Complaint: On October 14, 2025, I booked an appointment online with Montecito Pet Hospital for my dog. Nowhere on their website did it state there was a $50 no-show or cancellation fee. I called the next morning to cancel because my dog was feeling better and was told I’d be charged $50. When I mentioned that no such policy was shown on their site, staff member Dominique said it was a third-party booking system and that the fee would be sent to collections. The only cancellation link I saw was in the confirmation email, which simply said “change or cancel appointment,” and it didn’t work when I tried. This policy was not disclosed upfront, and I believe it’s unfair and misleading. I’m requesting that the $50 fee be removed and that the business clearly post their cancellation policy before customers book.

  Took my little furry guy to get ready for his international trip. Everyone was kind, efficient, personable and beautiful. 🫶 Update: we took our big furry guy into get ready for his separate international trip and once again, everyone was wonderful. Dr. Pearl and her team were attentive, patient and thorough. We really appreciated them helping us prepare and submit our paperwork for our pups’ international travels. Thank you so much for the fabulous care and support.

  8/26/25: Update - Called the hospital manager as requested by the owner. The reason I hadn't received the refund was bc it was credited to the wrong credit card. The manager told me that once she hits the submit button "it's out of her hands." So not only are their charging practices devious - their accounting practice are too. She didn't even try to call someone to correct her mistake basically said I was SOL - Talk about next level shady. Good news is I have receipts so called my credit card company and disputed the charges - they credited my account and is dealing with Montecito Pet Hospital. 5 Stars for Chase. Devious charging practices 1. Made an appointment for my dog and asked how much the office visit is was told $99 for a wellness check since she hasn’t been seen in 2 years. Was charged $125 for “senior” wellness check bc it’s a more thorough exam but it wasn’t. Purpose of our visit was swollen and watery eye and Dr. Pearl checked eyes and heart. Peaked into her ears and teeth - it was quick. She didn’t touch anything on the body, legs or paws. No hip or leg exam. Bc she’s a patient they pulled up her record before quoting me the price and knew she’s 12.5 yo. I don’t mind paying for service but it’s frustrating and crafty paying for service you don’t received. 2. Speaking of paying for something you don’t receive, Dr. Pearl recommended Oravet dental chews after paying for it ($52.21) I decided not to get it bc it was a large bag and after looking at it can tell my dog wouldn’t like it. She couldn’t refund me at the time - I spoke to Dominique the office manager and it’s been 2 weeks and still no refund. 3. FYI same day cancellations are $50 Dr. Pearl didn’t seem comfortable around my dog and was a bit standoffish. I have a 32lb 12.5 year old passive/shy Australian Shepherd who has never bitten anything in her life. I found Dr. Pearl’s behavior unusual for a vet.

  I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible care my dog Todo received after a terrifying 15-foot fall. Being over 6 hours away from home, I was panicked and desperate when I rushed her in. The staff took her immediately - no questions asked, no hesitation - just pure compassion and professionalism when every second counted. Dr. Sheri MacVeigh was absolutely wonderful. Her thoroughness in examining Todo and explaining everything to me was remarkable, but what stood out most was how genuinely she cared. You could see it in how she handled my girl with such dignity and tenderness throughout the entire visit. The entire staff went above and beyond. While I was anxiously waiting in the exam room, one of them even brought out a dog to comfort me - such a thoughtful gesture that meant the world during such a stressful time. If you ever find yourself in an emergency situation, especially far from home, this is where you want to be. Dr. MacVeigh and her team treated us like family, not strangers passing through. Todo is recovering well thanks to their expert care. Highly, highly recommend!
