We’ve been going to this vetco total care location for 4 years now and we’ve always had wonderful service. The employees are always helpful and attentive and answer all of our questions. We especially love Lauren who is always super friendly and helpful, she even remembers our dogs name. I’d highly recommend this location for your pet needs.

Please, I beg you, avoid this vet like the plague. I had so much trouble finding a good vet to take care of my princess (pekingese), a vet who actually cared about the well being of my dog. I started going to petco when my dog was elderly and needed a lot of treatment. Although my bill with petco would be exorbitant every time I went, I was at least able to get adequate care in a timely manner which was good enough for me. I couldn't stand to see my beautiful puppy in pain. Things went OK for a while until I took my dog in for her monthly librela shot and her rabies shot was due. I always noticed my dog suffer after her vaccine shots, but the vet won't treat my dog without a rabies shot. So I made the horrible decision to let them give my dog the arthritis shot and the rabies shot at the same time. Within a couple days, my dog started having seizures. Aside from the seizures, my dog was happy at home for the most part. I went to petco for help and Dr. Corona told me they could give me pentobarbitol to help treat the seizures. I then waited days for the prescription to come through but it never did. I called the vet back to check on the prescription and they informed me they devided they would no longer give me the script because it was a controlled substance. After hearing this, I canceled my vet checkup appointment for later that day and proceeded to hop in my car with my dog and drive 2 hours to my family vet who already agreed to help my dog. After canceling my appointment and while I was driving, Dr. Corona called me wondering why I canceled my appointment. I told her if she wouldn't help my dog, I would find somebody who would. DR. Corona then pleaded with me to come back in and assured me she would be able to give me the prescription my dog needed. So I turned around like a selfish moron because I didn't want to drive 2 hours to the family vet, and I went back to petco for the checkup. $500 later for virtually no treatment, dr. Corona wrote me a prescription for an extremely tiny, singular dose of pentobarbitol but made it so i had to fill it at a compounding pharmacy, because nobody makes medication at such a small singular dose. Because they made me wait so long, it was end of day Friday so I was going to have to wait until Monday for the compounding pharmacy to reopen. But I ended up speaking to a few compounding chemists late Friday and they all laughed in my face not believing the prescription was real because it was so small and they all pretty much told me they wouldn't make it for me because it was just too small of a dose and wasnt worth their time. Its not like one dose would have helped my dog anyways. So my dog continued having seizures untreated and I struggled severely about whether I should put her down or not. I could tell my puppy wanted to stay with me but I saw her suffering and wondered if I was being selfish and if I should put her down. Due to her suffering and having no medication to ease her pain, I decided to take her to be put down over the weekend. The second we drove into the vet hospital parking lot, my baby started panicking and crying and I couldnt even say good bye to her because she was so scared. After I put her down I instantly knew I made the wrong decision. The pain I felt and continue to feel is unbearable and worse than anything I have ever felt before. This vet not only betrayed me, but they betrayed my beautiful little girl and left her to suffer in pain and fear. We rely on vets to help us care for our animals because the stupid laws dont allow regular people to treat their own pets. I promise you all, petco vetco santa ana cannot be trusted and they will let you and your loved ones down. I will never own another pet after what they did to my best friend. I urge everyone to do everything they can to find another vet. I dont want anyone to have to experience what I did or to have to live with the pain of knowing they let their pet down.

We had an amazing experience at the Petco Vet Clinic! We brought our puppy, Harley, in for a check-up and were lucky enough to have Dr. Corona as our vet. She was absolutely fantastic—kind, thorough, and incredibly knowledgeable. She made us feel at ease right away and took the time to answer all of our questions as new puppy parents. You can really tell she cares about her patients and their families. Harley was so comfortable with her, and that says a lot! Highly recommend this clinic and especially Dr. Corona. We’ll definitely be coming back!
